A proposal to increase the SPL to 14 teams, which would have saved them relegation, didn't get enough support this morning (only 16 of the league's 42 teams backed it). Nor Hearts' proposal to restructure into three leagues of 14.

Bayern munchen won the 8th bundesliga in a row.

I really think dortmund had made a right balls up of it this year.

Karim Benzema just scored an absolute peach of a volley for Real Madrid against Valencia after some great team play. Probably goal of the season in La Liga (according to the commentators before you start, Sanguine).

Marco Asensio also came on and scored with his first touch having been injured for a year. That's as many home goals for him as Gareth Bale had managed in 635+days.

... Some absotively outrageous scenes at this evening's Galatassary v Gaziantep game - not sure if anyone else flipped over to catch the very end after the Merzzzzzyside Snorefest .... Luckily my missus showed her usual brilliant social awareness of the FoCcers family needs, to serve tea right in the middle of it, so I was able (gladly) to miss most of the 2nd Half .... however the end of the Turkish game was something else.

....approx 15' injury time- including an autopsy length VAR dissection of the visitors equaliser (astonishing bicycle kick to make it 3-3) which eventually saw it disallowed; after a foul was ruled at the other end of the field possibly as much as 2-3 mins earlier !

Cue plenty more Yellow Cards waved yet ..... in the last few moments remaining Home Keeper, already booked for time-wasting, delayed a clearance still further and was pulled up for it, but not-booked.
Free-Kick taken - rolled sideways, forward dummies on rushing defenders and gets tripped just inside the box -Penalty! 8) 8) :o :o
Scored - game ends 3-3 - doubt that ref will escape unscathed will probably find a goat carcass or worse smeared around his car!

44 goals now this season for Haaland. Can't immediately think of a 19 year old other than Pele who might have scored 50 goals in a season. And Pele's early goals are asterisked.

Ronaldo (the original one) never hit that mark. Eusebio only once, at 26 years old. Gerd Muller at the same age. Romario did it back in Brazil at 34! Messi was 24.

Or to put it another way, I don't know that there is any teenager bar Pele to have had as successful a season in front of goal as Haaland.

Like Haaland more and more each time I see him, he kinda defies logic. Nobody that large should be able to run as fast as he can, he is quite unique. Cannot see a weakness in his game as it stand and I really like him as a character too, very much like Zlatan in his approach to interviews etc. Manchester United must be sick that they missed out on him.

Where do we think he goes next? He's got a fairly small (relatively speaking) release clause hasn't he?

I thought his relatively small release clause was at Salzburg.

Can't see him ever playing for United. He supports Leeds and his dad would also probably explode if he did.

Dortmund already have Haaland, Sancho and Gio Reyna - now Youssoufa Moukoko is apparently ready to set the Bundesliga alight once he turns 16 in November. Bundesliga has changed its rules on young players so that they are eligible as soon as they turn 16, rather than six months later.

Moukoko scored 50 goals for Dortmund u17s in 2018/19, and has 34 in 20 games for the u19s this season (with six games to go), both German league records. Born in Cameroon, but moved to Germany aged ten and has played for their youth teams.

This probably came up at some point, but Celta Vigo got dispensation for an emergency transfer outside of the window after their reserve keeper got a long-term injury. So they signed Nolito, a striker.
He scored on his debut at the weekend.

Following the Martin Braithwaite stuff I'm beginning to think the La Liga suits are clowns.

£63m by the looks of it, but can't be triggered for another two years.

2 matches ago Hamburg were in the 2nd automatic promotion spot with 3 games left to play. They drew with Osnabruck who are near the bottom which allowed Stuttgart to overtake them into 2nd place and the Sunday just gone was the big one as they played Heidenheim who were 1 place below them and still themselves hoping to snatch the only play off spot.

If Hamburg won, and Stuttgart won as expected, then Hamburg would go into the final day 1 point behind Stuttgart and likely with a better GD, both playing to get automatic promotion, with the loser getting the play offs.

Hamburg went a goal up against Heidenheim, then a Hamburg player scored an own goal on 80 minutes to bring it level. 5 minutes into injury time Heidenheim scored the winner. Stuttgart also scored 6 goals in their game, which all together means Hamburg dropped to 4th place, and by my calculation Stuttgart are as good as up due to being 3 points ahead with 1 game left and a better GD of 11.

1 game left and Hamburg have to hope that Heidenheim don't get a result away to league winners Arminia Bielfield if they are to get the play off spot

TL;DR - HambuROFLg

Benfica beaten 3-4 at home by Santa someone I've never heard of. :o :o (Clara not Claus) :D

...can't imagine ## they've conceded 4 @ home to a side outside of Porto/Sporting for many a long stretch ....

They are still only 3 pts behind Porto and a massive 15 ahead of SL with about 8 to go - so Champs League place safe.

## Too lazy to look it up   ..... not as if it's NL.

Lazio 2-0 up within 11 minutes away to Atalanta. If they hold on then they are still just 1 point off the top with plenty of games left.

What an awful service Premier Sports is. Glad it's only a free trial.

Missed the second goal in the Madrid game because, having watched the entire 1st half without a hitch "Premier Player" decided in the second half that it doesn't like casting onto the firestick.
