Chievo Verona, who have spent 17 of the last 20 seasons in Serie A and got into the Serie B play offs last season, are no more having RIP in Peaced themselves via bankruptcy

Winston Biscuit Liam Henderson, who as previously reported seems to have got a decent amount of praise in Serie B over the last couple of years, failed in the Serie B play off semi's last year with Lecce then was immediately signed by Empoli who were promoted up to Serie A

Last week Empoli beat Juventus 1-0 in their 2nd game of the season and Henderson came on as a sub.

Doesn't this basically happen most years for loads of teams? If you look in Serie C or D there's teams like Reginna or Perugia who have reformed 4 times

38 years old, will be interesting* to see if can still make an impact at a smaller club.

Nice given a 2 point deduction, with one being suspended, for the pitch invasion against Marseille which lead to the game being abandoned.

Match to be replayed at a neutral venue

Forgot to do my usual ones to watch type post pre season on clubs and players I will be keeping a close eye on, but Valencia were going to be one of them and after 4 games they are top.

Still a shambles behind the scenes but they took the Getafe manager who has been really highly rated working on a tight budget. Appears to be working.

Jose Bordalas - good start for him and he was brilliant with Getafe on next to no budget.

Voro, otherwise known as Salvador Marcos, has been caretaker manager at Valencia six times (most recently when Gracia left), which has to be some kind of record.

Also a brilliant start for Wolfsburg* in the Bundesliga. Wonder if they might challenge for a knock-out place in what looks like a pretty open CL Group G (Lille, Sevilla, RB Salzburg). They don't concede many goals - just 38 in their last 38 league games.

*Excellent fact that I was today years old when I learned - Wolfsburg were originally a VW workers side, picked out of those who moved to the new city when a factory was built to manufacture the VW Beetle.

Wonder if this might be Vinicius Jr's 'breakout season'. 4 goals in 4 games already, having not got past 6 in a season before in his career. Real have started very strongly too. Debut goal for Camavinga at the weekend.

.

Their stadium still sits on the footprint of the VW factory there - pic below - stadium at the front with the Autostadt (museum and factory) behind.

We went to pick up a new Golf from there a few years back when Wolfsburg were at home and they had big screens in the Autostadt showing the game.

Haaland is quite frankly ridiculously good. His 2nd goal was insane.

He will be the best striker in the World on day.

Messi just walked straight past Pochettino after being subbed off, refusing his handshake

Meanwhile whilst he can't do it in the farmers league, CR7 is banging in a goal a game in the PL

If he isn't already then he is only behind Lewandowski.

I think he is only behind him on virtue of Lewas insane couple seasons and the fact he is older

In a few years he will be the best striker bar none in the world and if he keeps up this rate of scoring I would not be surprised if he breaks multiple records

Benzema has a shout for being ahead of him imo. Offers much to his team, not just goalscoring and doesn't get the credit he deserves from some.
