Spezia’s chief medic confirms the outbreak of COVID-19 within the squad of the Italian club was caused by ‘two anti-vax players’ who refused the vaccine.

BT have lost the Bundesliga rights and still no announcement on who will take them over for the UK. Quite annoying as the Bundesliga 2 starts tonight with Schalke Hamburg.

Various Twitter threads suggest that Sky have pinched the rights, but that 2. Bundesliga will be on the app only.

Spoke to a friend who works for Sky Sports News and he’s personally not heard anything although that said they were running a video of Sancho’s best Dortmund bits the other day. If not Sky then maybe Premier Sports or DAZN.

Are the highlights still going to be on ITV4?

Confirmed by Sky. Seems a while since the broadcasting pendulum swingeth Sky's way.

I see La Liga have sorted Barca out a treat. They've announced €2.3bn of private equity investment into La Liga - the first of its kind - just when Barca (amongst others) needed a cash injection. Those new signings, and Messi, all now likely to be registered.

Barca still waiting to hear what their FFP enforced salary cap is going to be though I believe, and I think it is expected to be low (by their standards)

Real Madrid reportedly looking to sue La Liga and the private equity firm for misappropriation.

Court ruling today that BEin sports must respect its contract with French Ligue 1 and pay up (it has been disputing it since Amazon took 80% of the matches at a cheap cost). Today is also the day the payment needed to be made by.

2 days until the French season starts and they are still in a muddle over who (if anyone) will broadcast the opening weekend matches

Deal still needs to be voted through by the majority of the La Liga clubs, do 22 of 42 clubs need to agree. You would think it likely to succeed but Real could try and persuade enough to vote against.

Not that it's on for a while but Sky have given the UEFA Nations League the marquee treatment previously (Carragher, Neville etc) covering the games. My Sky mole says this was to make a play at the Champions League again but financially they can't compete with the sums BT Sport offered.

Wouldn't surprise me if there are still twists and turns. Salary cap being forced on Barca do they can claim La Liga forced its biggest asset out.

Or he just joins PSG, and then Mbappe moves on so they don't lose him for nothing next summer

Would love it if City took him and so forgot all about Kane, leaving Kane at home with no one looking to sign him

With Messi out of the picture Barca now only need to get €120m off the wage bill to register Aguero, Depay and their other summer signings with the league.

Apparently Barca are expecting last season's losses for 2020/21 to be €487m
