Enjoying Bundesliga this season. Just two points separate Moenchengladbach, top on goal difference, from Leverkusen in 9th place. 'No, after you....'
It's looking like being a long, hard season for promoted Paderborn, who were a third tier side in 17-18 - just a point after nine games.

Looks like a two horse race already in Serie A, albeit its Inter challenging this year instead of Napoli. Good to see Atalanta building on their shock third place last season, sitting third again.

I like 'new' teams, hence hoping that outside of Reading, Preston and Bristol City can mount a promotion push in the Championship. In the Scottish second tier then its Ayr United, who haven't played in the top division for 40 years, who are pushing Dundee United, currently second on GD.

Minor shock so far in Portugal, that promoted Famalicao lead the way after seven games, with just a solitary draw and six wins. It's only their seventh ever season at this level and they have never finished higher than 13th. Their stadium holds just 5,300!

Bundesliga is incredibly entertaining so far this season. Bayern look pretty fallible this year and it would not be a surprise if someone else were to win it - Leipzig the most likely from what I have seen to date.

Not quite the full story with Paderborn there, who will struggle - they have had a crazy few seasons.

They were promoted to the Bundesliga in 2013-14 season and then things got really interesting*:

2014-15 - Relegated from Bundesliga
2015-16 - Relegated from 2.Bundesliga
2016-17 - 18th in 3. Liga - only spared relegation due to 1860 Munich being refused entry to 3.Liga following relegation from 2. Bundesliga
2017-18 - 2nd and promoted from 3.Liga
2018-19 - Clinch 2nd and promotion back to the Bundesliga on the final day

So in 5 seasons they have gone from being in the Bundesliga to being back there again but should have been relegated to the German non-league system in the meantime. Crazy.

Spanish Segunda Division

Cadiz already running away with it 11 points clear at the top

One interesting story could be Fuenlabrada who won the 3rd tier last season and are now spending their very first season in the 2nd tier. They are currently level on points with 2nd place. They are the team that made headlines 2 seasons ago when they knocked Real Madrid out of the Copa Del Rey They came up from the 4th division 8 years ago.

earlier this year Winston Biscuit Listened to a European football podcast early this morning and they talked about the difference in refereeing and implementing of laws. One that I liked was how different countries may be more strict or relaxed about swearing at refs but in Italy they have blasphemy laws and if you are heard using the lords name in vain you get an automatic yellow card.

10 minutes left and PSG are losing 2-1 to bottom of the table Dijon

If it stays this way PSG will have lost 3 of their 12 league games and would still be 8 points clear at the top.

15 minutes left in the swedish season and Djurgardens sit top by 1 point but are only drawing. Let in 1 goal and I believe Malmo, who are winning 5-0, overtake them on goal diffo

Must have been some good scenes at HT at Malmo as they were winning and Djurgardens were 2-0 down

Winston Biscuit Bayern hammered 5-1 by Eintracht Frankfurt

Excellent performance by Eintracht. Bayern hampered by a red card for Boateng after 9 mins. Eintracht initially awarded a pen and Boateng a yellow but was reviewed and foul was just outside the box, so free kick and red card.

Fall out sees Niko Kovac fired yesterday, he left Frankfurt to go to Bayern summer before last. Jose Mourinho the early favourite for the Bayern job.

Bundesliga still very tight. Mönchengladbach have opened up a 3 point gap at the top but Dortmund in 2nd are just 2 points clear of 9th placed Hoffenheim.

In the bottom half, Union Berlin win the 1st ever top flight Berlin derby with a 1-0 win over Hertha.

Would be so Mourinho to go to Bayern, cushy little job with lots of money to spend and a great squad already assembled for him.

Serie B - Ascoli awarded a pen. 2 players argue over who should take it, the one who loses out demands to be subbed off, the manager agrees to it

Given that Haland has scored so many goals, do you not think that that table might just be out of date?

Spain taking it's Super Cup to Saudi Arabia not proving popular. In fact all major TV Channels who would bid for the rights have all refused to bid for the rights in protest at the decision.
