genome It might stem from the media/everyone praising them for getting to the Premier League on a shoestring which is the biggest myth in football

Other than that, I quite like them as a club and I also like Eddie Howe.

This.

Any club like Bournemouth that doesn't tie everyone into relegation release and wage reduction clauses deserves everything they get.

I mean, when you see the trouble it causes big and previously established clubs like Newcastle, Leeds, Villa etc across the last 20 years, it's almost criminally negligent for a tiny club punching well above it's weight.

Can't see them getting back up either, if anything I can see a Sunderland situation coming.

Apparently Bournemouth have £41m coming in the door for Ake this close season so that’ll probably cover their wages for the season.

So with that sale, the loss of his wages and the parachute payment for next season they only need to find another £25m to cover their wages. The average revenue in the Championship excluding parachute payments is £27m a year.

No way, excluding parachute payments!?

You sure?

Ours seems about £16m and the recent numbers I saw for Brentford (2-3 years old) were £13m

To be fair, that was the most up to date figure I could find and it was 2 years old and included Villa, Wolves and Blunderland.

I could totally believe it include parachute payments and obviously those three have pretty big followings, plus the likes of Leeds.

It just seemed very high, and I wouldn't have thought we'd be that far behind.

It's no wonder the likes of Luton, Barnsley and Rotherham struggle

There's definitly a second glass ceiling forming between The Championship and League 1.

Those figures may indeed be wrong and there is the proviso that at the time of publication, Bolton and Sheffield Wednesday (opposite ends of the financial spectrum, I'd imagine) had not published accounts. Bolton were obviously a compete basket case at the time and Wednesday were too busy cooking the books.

Sounds like even a Michelin star chef would have struggled with those ingredients

Well, this is interesting. Football league clubs have voted to implement a total salary cap of £2.5m for League One and £1.5m for League Two for the 2020-21 season - agreement also to restrict squad size to no more than 20 players over 21 years of age. Proposal in front of Championship clubs is apparently for a cap of £20m, but this hasn't been voted on yet.

That is a massive gap between the Champ and L1. But seriously £48k per week cap in League 1? THat is seriously low. Clubs like Sunderland, Portsmouth, Charlton and Ipswich can sustain wages far higher than that. Should be based around turnover in my opinion.

So how do relegated clubs from Champ conform to the cap? You get relegated with a "20m wage bill and most of your players remain under contract for another 2 years....have they given guidelines on how they are supposed to fix that?
