TBM Jose Enrique joins Liverpool for £6m

Liverpool are also reportedly talking to Birmingham about Scott Dann, believe Arsenal are also interested so could be a difficult decison for Scott coming up. Arsenal and Europe on one hand or home town club on the other.

Fabregas and Nasri left out of Arsenal's squad for Newcastle. Nasri £23m to Man City being reported, on top for the £35m for Fabregas. Interesting to see how much of this Arsenal reinvest. If they did as much as 50% and spent it wisely, they could consolidate 4th place in my view. However they're still paying off the Emirates etc. I believe.

Maybe their fans have something in common with Reading fans right now.

A very intuitive comment - I was at a meeting on Monday where their CEO spoke. The parallels between their business model and Reading's are striking.

Dann? How much are Jagielka, Hangerlande, Samba and Cahill? All would be better signings in my view.

About double (if not more) what Dann would cost

TBM Arsenal like to only have players at the club who are 100% committed to playing for them - if the player asks to leave then they are better selling them whilst they get good value than making them stay and losing them for nothing/little

How long has Fabregas been flirting with Barca?

How many seasons did they do the same thing with both Henry and Viera?

better availability though - dangle a couple of extra million £ in front of Brum and he's yours. not so easy off a fellow Prem team.

You have to give Wenger credit, he knows when to sell a player

Anelka (£22m), Overmars (£25m), Henry (£16m), Adebayor (£25m), Vieira (£14m)........top of their game when at Arsenal, when they left they didn't quite hit it off.

Over £100m received for those players = good business for Arsenal

^ agreed. It's similar to Ferguson whose only really bad "sell" was Yip Yap Stam (maybe Van Nistelrooy too at a push).

Generally very much agreed, but the sums bandied around for Fabregas - £29-£35m seem a little light. He must have been worth more a couple of years ago.

True but i would say he was better a couple of years ago.......now he is hindered by his hamstring and the fact Arsenal have Ramsey and Wilshere

No disagreement on that statement, just the one about Arsenal only wanting players who are 100% committed etc. I think history suggests otherwise.

Doesn't look like Mata's going anywhere now. Especially not Arsenal now his new contract puts him beyond what they want to spend.

He rejected the contract and hasn't signed the approved one yet (unless he has done so very recently)

Fair enough, I'm only going by what Gollum Bollockache said on Sky Sports News not so long ago. Sounded like it was a done deal.
