Old Man Andrews
TheSpread Superb deal for Roma. They will be able to sign an equally good if not better keeper than Alisson for half that money.

Name a goalkeeper of the same ability available for £28 million.

I'll wait.

I remember hearing about that Shearer transfer fee quite vividly. I was 7 years old and my Mum was giving me a lift home from school. It came on the radio and remember thinking that it was the most amount of money I'd ever heard of, I didn't even know numbers went that high.

That was the summer of Euro 96 and all the kids in the playground were doing the Shearer celebration

Ouch. Bristol City left-back Joe Bryan had agreed terms and passed a medical with Villa, only to have his head turned by a later offer from Fulham, who he will join later today. Probably means Fulham have given up on making Targett's loan deal from Southampton permanent.

Or is Sessignon on the move?

I think Levy will make his move today, but Fulham will turn it down unless it is silly money. Apparently they've already rejected a money + Danny Rose deal.

He's been playing left-side of the front three, hence why I don't think the Bryan purchase is linked (Targett was left-back last season), and why the Rose deal wasn't appealing.

Talk of Benteke back to Villa

That is some fall from grace for a 27 year old

Jordan Ayew ‘loaning-up’ from the Championship to the Prem...should be a good fit.

The new retrospective transfer method?

Pochettino taking the Wenger-like 'there are not players we can buy who would improve our team' line. :|

Le Fondre joins Sydney FC.

Nice little move for him and his family.

Parkinson made Karacan captain for several games during the first third of the season and then due to unknown circumstances he was out of favour.

Think Jems performances were below par
However, Parky is not the most tolerant of managers...nor the most successful.....dare I say it

Speculation around whether Real Madrid will spend big on Matthijs de Ligt of Ajax before the window shuts. Centre back who just turned 19 last week. Been huge praise for him after a great season last year where he won the Dutch footballer of the year award.

Talk of €60M upwards needed if they want him

His agent should steer well clear IMO. Think Real Madrid are going to have a shocking season by their standards, young player like him should go to a club that will give him starts and that he can grow with. Bit surprised Arsenal didn't go in for him to be honest.

Yep. Not on the same scale, but Patrick Roberts an example of a player who joined a big club at a young age without much prospect of starting games. Real want him as a commodity, to farm out for experience.

Lopetegui has a poisoned chalice, in my view. Ronaldo gone, and chiefs with expectations that go beyond being a good coach and making his own decisions. He's already getting pressure to play Vinicius Jr before he thinks he is ready.
