I think as well for me with Liverpool its as much to do with the fact they play more on emotion than their more technical rivals.

With crowds unlikely to return to their usual levels soon , I think they'll suffer more from Covid conditions football than yer Citys, Utds and Chelsea.

Sanguine Two good signings for Newcastle in Wilson and Lewis.

The Brewster one is odd - best goals per game ratio excluding penalties in the Championship last season from the time he joined Swansea, he looks a great prospect. FSG run things tightly at Liverpool, but they risk it being 'one and done' (albeit that one was four trophies) if they don't help Klopp retain and nurture replacements for their starting XI. The strength of their first XI is undeniable, but they also have easily the weakest bench of the top 6.

FSG are victims of their own success. You used to fund transfers by selling big names such as Suarez and Coutinho. Now you're prolly one of the best clubs in the world, who'd want to leave

I'm not wholly convinced much as changed in the global 'pecking order'. Real Madrid, Barca, maybe PSG for the city and the lifestyle. There is a draw to these clubs - it would be terrific to see more players opt for the likes of Juve, Milan, Inter, United, Liverpool, the 'older' great clubs, but they generally don't get a look in. I think Mane and Salah would leave Liverpool tomorrow for Spain if an offer came in. Wijnaldum looks to be on his way.

Mendes was paid €7M of the Fabio Silva deal to Wolves. Silva's dad also got €3M of it

Old Man Andrews
From Despair To Where? James Rodriguez to Everton for £20m?

That would be a cracking signing IMO.

Mind you, I said that about Moise Kean last season.

Seems a bit lightweight to me, not sure he will be suited to the Premier League but happy to be proven wrong. Quality player on his day.

Sounds like he had a really good debut yesterday, although I didn't see it.

Will be interesting if he can continue good form.

He was fantastic. That being said the Spurs players gave him the freedom of the stadium to play his game.

With Dele Alli allegedly going to Madrid. Weird.

The way Dele is playing at the moment, Spurs are the winners in this.

I can only see Bale returning to the PL being disappointing. Would like to be wrong though.

Probably, but you'd think there'd be less pressure if he went back to Spurs, than if we went to United or someone else.

Completely agreed. And having left I'm not entirely sure how he ends up at Villa, he is a terrific keeper, easily top seven or eight in the division.

Very surprised Chelsea didn't come in for him. He is twice the keeper Kepa is and would have only cost them £20m. They are going to spend that much on an unproven French keeper from Rennes in the next couple of days too.

Bale to Spurs a done deal, on a season long loan.
