Old Man Andrews We are going to see so much movement on deadline day this year, aren't we? Clubs have the luxury of seeing how they get on for a full month before the window closes so were wary of bringing players in. I think the clubs getting off to a bad start will panic buy/loan on deadline day this year. Sky Sports will be in their element.

listened to a podcast yesterday and someone said that due to financial issues around Covid this transfer window is the one where we may well see transfers you thought would never happen actually happen. Lots of loans or discounted deals to trim squad numbers/costs was suggested.

Winston Biscuit maybe he has had a bunch of offers and is being choosy, or thinks waiting until nearer the window closing puts him in a good position. Just seems odd that someone who has clearly been PL quality in his career and is now in his prime years would leave a club and go nearly 3 months before moving to a new one

I remember when we went up, we were linked with him, but we got Gunter and he went to Southampton instead. How things could have been different...

That Thiago signing is a very good one - he adds something to the Liverpool midfield that they don't have. Fabinho, Henderson, Thiago quite easily and obviously their first choice midfield now, and with three players finally in distinct and obvious roles.

Not sure how Vic is going to deal with this one - he's a Spanish international but is the son of Brazilian World Cup winner Mazinho, the brother of Brazilian international Rafinha, and was born in Italy.

Agreed with that.

Wijnaldum & Keïta are decent back-ups as well.

What is wrong with Wijnaldum? He was arguably their most impressive midfielder last season.

Nothing wrong with him at all - indeed that emphasises how good Thiago is that he is an upgrade. Liverpool's front three are world-class, but it says a lot about the major weakness of Liverpool's side that they got so few goals (mainly the front three) and assists (the full-backs) from the midfield. Thiago should change that.

Liverpool need cover in midfield as Wijnaldum may move on before the window closes. Believe Liverpool are in talks over a new deal with him but if negotiations break down then they may look to sell as GW is a free agent next summer.

So you're saying there is a chance Reading can get him on a free?

:D :D
Very, very pleased with this signing-similar to Keita but better.

In response to Pepe I think it will be all about City and Liverpool again with Chelsea in 3rd and a scramble for the 4th place between, Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd , Leicester and Wolves.

Interesting that you now have Fabinho, Henderson, Wijnaldum, Thiago, Keita, Chamberlain, Milner, Shaqiri and Jones all vying for three places

Think there’s gonna be a couple of unhappy players amongst that lot

Thicko eh?
You don't even seem to understand what "ignore" means Thread Bomber.

BTW you lecturing me on anything Liverpool is about as daft as me trying to lecture you and your fellow Home Counties chavs on what it takes for you and them to be chavs.

Go get a job.

Do wish you two would stop replying to each other and derailing threads

Almost becoming a daily occurrence now, worse than the OMA and DD ones

How is it derailing anything? It is an argument relating to Thiago. Grow up, it doesn't concern you so do not get involved in the discussion if you can't handle hard debate.
