Was just reading that the Thiago deal is £20M basic + £10M add ons and the basic is has been structured as £5M per season over 4 years.

Mind boggling when you look at the price some others go for

at that age it's more about paying the wages of an established (possibly waning) star than a large fee

but 'greed would have liked to have seen him at Utd

BR0B0T Jota announced!

Very decent signing that. Improves their bench massively and they can rely on him in meaningless Champions League dead rubber group games when Mane or Salah need a rest.

What are United doing btw? What are they waiting for? So many players being missed out on.

In for Telles apparently which is a good lb signing. Alot will depend on their keeper situation and they will probably oxf*rd that up and stick with de Gea.

Reguilon has been overshadowed today understandably, but that's a cracking signing for Spurs

Juve confirm they are not signing Luis Suarez. Sounds like he is close to joining Atletico now

They are trying to offload Costa, aren't they? Weren't Spurs in for him recently?

I didn't realise that they were trying to offload him, still only 31, so could do a job in the short term.

Was reading something on Suarez over the weekend and it basically said he is still very lethal in front of goal but it's really noticeable how his legs have gone

Think that might be right but from what I have seen he has more than enough ability to make up for his lack of physicality.

Michael Edwards has done a fantasic job there. They have structured the Jota signing in a similar way - essentially means that their book outlay this season for Tsimikas, Jota and Thiago is c. £20m. They got £5m of the Hoever money up front from Wolves, £6m of the Lovren fee, £1.5m (I think) this season for Ejaria and they'll make up the rest when Brewster moves. Brilliant worked - they will have lost two squad players and two teenagers, and brought in Thiago, Jota and backup to Robertson for roughly net zero.
