yeah, looked up his wiki and £5 million and set of footballs seems a fair price. That's ludicrous.

Mr Optimist Reports are that Chel$ki will be splashing the cash in order to buy their way to retaining the title.

Which is ironic as Man Utd are splashing even more cash in a desperate attempt to avoid winning the title.

Nantes have confirmed the signing of defender Papy Djilobodji, who was in the last Year of his contract, for £4M to Chelsea.

On the BBC Sport rolling transfer day news, they have a guy from the Football Manager computer game giving their assessment of players; this is his take on Chelsea's new player.....

"Physically strong and good in the air, this limited defender is not exactly a marquee signing and is rated by FM as being no more than a good Championship level player with little scope for improvement. He’s valued at just over £1m and can be bought from Nantes for little over that. In my longest save, he never leaves the French club and never averages over 7.00 in a season, suggesting that Chelsea’s mooted purchase is a little panicky.

Has Van Gaal totally lost the plot?

He sells Van Persie for £3.8M, then looks to buy in a 19yr old with zero experience of England or the Premier League for £36M.

That - I'd suggest - is bonkers.

It's going to be a close run thing as to which leaves their club sooner; Van Gaal or Mourinho.....

Bristol City for all of their ridiculousness could line up against us with a CB pairing of Luke Moore and Nathan Baker, which would be pretty good for this level.

No, but they'll probably bid £10m for Novakovich.
