Can't say I watch a lot of Swansea, but I'm surprised they are letting him go, Shelvey always pretty dependable when I've seen them, and a very good range of passing.

also watch so little of Swansea I have no idea about him recently. Talksport asked for callers on him yesterday and Swansea fans were calling in saying he is awful and anything more than £5M would be a bargain for them. which surprised me.

Deal has gone through.

Quite surprised by this one, even with their injuries I'd have thought Klopp would've found a better option (although Caulker had a good spell at Swansea).

I had a minor chuckle at the suggestion faceyb that they were going to use him for spare parts for Sturridge

Apparently Klopp has Toure and Sakho fit again, so Caulker (and anyone they signed) would be starting at least as a sub, difficult sell to the best of players. Or more likely, difficult to move for the sort of calibre defender Klopp wants at this stage of the season. I still confidently expect Hummels to move to Liverpool in the summer.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Hummels arrives in the summer too.

I'm not sure Toure is any better than Caulker these days to be fair but they've also got the lad who couldn't get a game at Villa too. Wouldn't he have done a job as back up to them?

I reckon Caulker will get quite a few games what with the shambles Liverpool seem to have at the back. I don't think he's quite as bad as he's looked recently though so I'm not totally deriding the signing in the circumstances. I was just pretty shocked when I read it.

Well you can't say he isn't committed.

A bit worrying that Saints tended to play Yoshida ahead of him if either of the 2 regulars were unavailable.
Not yet proven to be worth the £8million (?) that was paid for him but we will see.

Have watched Swansea quite a bit recently for work and some of the comments I've seen today seem to ring true - he's a one in 5 or 6 player, whether that's games, passes or shots. The match vs oxford summed it up - he had several 30-yard efforts, including a free kick, until he eventually got one on target.

Not sure he's the sort of player i'd want in a relegation scrap.

Liverpool have had a bid for Shane Long rejected by Saints. Liverpool fans going mental that the club has even bid for him......Dunno why, he has scored at the Kop end before, unlike most of their strikers!

Long is the kind of striker that fits in with how Klopp plays. Hard working, high pressing and lots of pace.
