parky Hungerford vs Maidenhead gone to extra time.

Magpies win 5-4 on pens aet. - (Probably) Host holders Chesham in next round. (last 4)
- other semi-final Marlow v Aylesbury Utd - ties due to be played 3rd week of the New Year.

Burnham bow out of the FA Trophy: H v Weymouth 0-0 aet Terras win 5-4 on pens :(

CCL - Windsors' match at Molesey postponed late PM; Hartley Wintney share 4 goals at Baddy Lea.

HELLENIC - Ascot scrape past Milton 3-2 and just about hang on to Highmoor's coat tails
- I watched the Palmer Pk outfit easing to a 2-1 win over in form Holyport on Monday evening - in truth they had plenty in reserve and won without too much fuss or bother and for once kept 11 men on the field! I'm yet to get a programme there this term - my fault for turning up round about KO time - well it is only 5' away! 8)

Thame continue their great run - now 8 wins in a row - with a 3-0 romp at Ab Utd
- I got here just after KO by which time the Us were already 2 in arrears (ph$(&ing Caversham Rd & Bridge + slow vehicles nr Ipsden and again nr Culham  )

Ardley won 1-0 at Highworth - 'Robins' picked up a 2-0 win at Newbury to climb up to 7th - but there's a sizeable gap to 6th.

...and finally my initial first choice tonight, that I opted against for no particular reason but am delighted I did - Thatcham v Cheltenham Saracens - was called off not long before KO with Sarries stranded in traffic some considerable distance away. :o

Oh and for those not glued to BBC Baaarks - for live commentary on tonight's 'other' Big Match - Basingstoke exited the FA Cup going down 1-2 in their replay at AFC Telford.

Windsor 1-2 Camberley

88th and 95th minute goals did for us yesterday.

No complaints but I thought it was a slightly unfortunate loss for Windsor in the end.

Unless Kirby's head injury is nothing more than superficial we are likely to go into Tuesday's game with zero central defenders. When Camberley scored their 2 goals late on Kirby was sporting a head bandage and Leonetti could hardly walk, let alone run. Ellis' main injury came after the winning goal but that looked quite serious. (And Jeffrey is suspended.)

Searching for a late late late equaliser we had a great effort brilliantly saved by their 'keeper.

Our young 'keeper has done nothing less than could be expected of a teenager but he does have a tendency to fumble under pressure and one such fumble gifted Camberley the winner. The sooner Dennison is fit enough to play the better.

The ref was pretty poor making many daft decisions - the one that really got me (on behalf of Camberley) was when their guy went down in the centre circle (it was an odd one as he seemed to be holding his stomach rather than his leg but I hadn't seen any contact) and the ref played on... he even looked around at him a couple of times as Camberley's attack developed and then, just as they were about to cross, fully 10 seconds after the injury and just as the bloke was showing signs of life, he blew up. Absolutely inexplicable.

Anyway, we do play some lovely stuff at times (not much evident in the 2nd half yesterday) but it looks like the big physical teams are always going to be a problem for us.

Top 4 will be a good finish for us.

- I ended up here – was en route to a ‘new tick’ at Totton & Eling v Fareham. T&E play at relatively new ground build at the same time as/adjacent to AFC Totton’s Testwood Park. I’d seen them once long ago, in their old guise of BAT Sports, (British and American Tobacco :? ) at Southern Gardens down in the town itself - think their old ground is still in place and presumably used by someone in the Southampton Leagues.
- During a brief stop at Winchester Services, I discovered it had been called off, so diverted east along A31 to here.
- I had been to Alresford's Arlebury Park once before .... on that fateful day back very late 2007 - when we’d gone down 4-6 @ Spuds. Nice set-up, home side hung on to a vastly superior Thame for about an hour – somehow only one goal in arrears – then, as their visitors tired, ran in three goals – horrible slippery drizzly conditions – the Wessex league side proved to have more stamina and Thame had no response once their dominance faded late on.

55 Odd Down 3-2 Hallen
56 Verwood Town 5-4 Plymouth Parkway
57 Folland Sports 2-3 AFC St Austell
58 Buckland Athletic PP Bristol Manor Farm
60 Blackfield & Langley 3-0 Bemerton Heath Harlequins
61 Melksham Town 2-2 Slimbridge aet
62 Bodmin Town 5-2 St Blazey
63 Highworth Town 3-0 Bridport
64 Shepton Mallet 1-0 Welton Rovers

So the remaining clubs from 'our leagues' rack up as follows in the last 64 - draw tomorrow :-
Combined Counties 3 (and not one's you'd first expect - Colliers Wood, Horley and Hanworth Villa)
HELLENIC 3 (1 in a replay # - Flackwell, Ascot, Highworth & Abingdon Utd #. )
Spartan South Mids 4 (Tring Ath, London Colney, St Margaretsbury & AFC Dunstable)
WESSEX 5 (AFC Portchester, Alresford Town, Blackfield & Langley, Newport (IOW) and Verwood Town)
WESTERN 4 (Bradford Town, Melksham or Slimbridge, Odd Down, Shepton Mallet (+ 1 postponement Bristol Manor Farm)

.....others in the south by comparison:

Eastern Counties (Norfolk/Suffolk etc) 5
Southern Counties East (Kent) 5 (1 in a replay)
Sussex 0 (1 in a replay)
SW Peninsula (Devon & Cornwall) 2

CCLP
Epsom & Ewell 1-3 Molesey

(Well their ground is called Bottom Meadow  )

Staines Lammas 2-2 Worcester Park

HELLP
Highmoor Ibis 0-0 Thatcham Town - ‘moor stay top but Kiddy are only one point behind with a game in hand – good result for the ‘Kingfishers’ considering their recent poor run of form.

Kidlington 2-0 Binfield - ‘Moles’ submerged by two late goals – low crowd for Kiddy (43 official) – indeed their crowds generally are considerably down in 14/15 – yet conversely they are maintaining a decent challenge near the top

Fantastic win for Windsor tonight at Ashford Town.

2-0 down at HT with the familiar failings at the back (despite equal possession and chances) looking like they would cost us dear once more.

Then we go 4-4-2 and come out with a real purpose in the 2nd half get 2 quick goals and and end up winning 3-2 with a late 3rd.

A very wet night but a terrific game of football in the circumstances and the most enjoyable turnaround I can remember for ages.

... high jinks amid the downpours this evening in NL -

- result of the evening (covered above as I typed this drivel 8) ) : Windsor come back from 0-2 down to win 3-2 at Ashford Town and move up to 3rd in the table.

I think the only other fixture to survive in that division was at Bedfont & Feltham who bt Southall 1-0 in a Middx County Cup game.

In the Conference Premier the Sh!ts win 3-1 at Southport whilst Woking lose by the same score at Grimsby.

Leaders Barnet succumb 2-1 conceding a very late goal at Brizzle Rovers.

In the Southern section I paddled down to the Soccer AM Stadium for 'stoke v Brommers - arrived to find the ground in darkness - Ref called it off just after 19:00 - whilst I was well underway.

Tried a mad dash up the A339 for Newbury v OC Nomads - but all in vain ..... that had succumbed late on to the earlier downpours too - league site didn't post up that it was waterlogged until much later. Got home in time to watch most of 2nd half of Blue Mancs v Bayern and the late late 'Kun' show.

Haven't checked all the other scheduled fixtures for tonight yet but I do know Sluff drew 2-2 with Chipp'num in the Southern Premier.
Chesham bt Hereford 3-0 in the same section. In Div One Central Chalfont St P continued a good recent run with a 2-1 win over Royston Town.
In 1 S&W the 'Freds' match with Cinderford was also flooded off - was high on my list too, along with similarly washed out Henley in the Hellenic. The Southern League Cup ties tonight ended with away wins: Shortwood overcoming Hungerford on pens after a 3-3 draw; Burnham trouncing Marlow 3-0.

Scours was similarly swamped so RTFC have to go again with Frimley Green in the Aldershot Senior Cup.

Two other matches were completed in the Hellenic - in Premier Flackwell bt Bracknell 3-1 whilst in the Floodlit Cup Ascot bt Shortwood's 2nd String 6-0.

The WESSEX fared the worse with only the League Cup tie taking place Andover Town losing 2-3 to Bemerton HH.

...hope its drier tomorrow eve - though there aren't too many decent games on round here anyway - unless I fancy trekking over to Supermarine for New College v Lydney or Cirencester for WBT v Thatcham

Windsor 'caught up' in a tapping up row over Dan Hicks. But to be honest in non league football every 7 day approach is pretty much off the back of a word between player and club trying to sign him anyway. Not sure how they can police it but at least it gives some warning to the side losing a player

Despite being on good money at Marlow he wants away and approached Windsor to play for nothing with his mates.

Our manager advised him to stay at Marlow and make it work but he insisted he wanted to come back to Windsor.

No tapping up there.

No tapping up in terms of money but it does seem it was all in place before the 7 day approach but then nearly every deal is. I guess the same goes on in the pro game but with agents before bids are made they get asked would the player be interested and for this amount ( In Windsor's case playing with your pals)

Not a perfect system but like i said at least the 7 day approach gives advanced warning.

Winchester City 2-3 Horndean
WESS1
Andover New Street 0-3 Ringwood Town
Fleet Spurs 1-1 Cowes Sports
- ended up here - easiest option after youngests' football finished late at Kings Meadow. We had time to go home - have a quiet sit/hot drink - he got cleaned up/dried off/warmed up etc - trundled down to Fleet for a 15:30 KO - evidently put back for the Ferry times to/from IoW. Cowes still unbeaten but Spurs stopped a run of poor results with a battling draw - indeed could have won with their fast direct running style but the Islanders held on : hosts equalised mid-way thorugh 2nd half. Bacon/Sausage Baps done to order - very good, though the set up here is fairly basic.
Pewsey Vale 0-1 Hythe & Dibden
Tadley Calleva 0-4 Team Solent - Tadley's brief spell at the top comes to a shuddering halt - Students take over in some style.

And Windsor.

Pretty dominant display really. Should have been several goals clear at HT but only netted in the 45th.

Seemed to settle us and we scored 3 more in the 2nd half.

We are just about getting through an injury mini-crisis; 3 players on the bench who were really there to make up the numbers with no real intention of them being brought on.

...any chance to escape the 'domestic bliss' 8) - I managed to nip up to jn 8/9 for this PM's FA Trophy 3Q clash betwixt

Hayes & Yeading v Horsham @ York Rd- finished 6-0 to the 'home' side. Free parking in Maiders for the Xmas duration too - which is a nice touch. Then again, I think the Stafferton Way Long Stay is free on Sundays anyhow?
- trouble is; with it only being the 'lodgers' playing, the Bell St entrance wasn't open - didn't notice this until I'd trekked all the way up there - so had to back-track round into York Rd. Didn't mind that much - though could have been iffy as the Ref started the match at about 14:57 - just as I was squeezing though the narrowest turnstiles in local NL - and I'm not a particularly Fat B@st@rd - is all Coat I assure you!!

Remarked to the operater there about the other entrance - she confessed that H&Y didn't know there was a 2nd entrance until very recently!

Also worked out later that they were charging £2 more for the Trophy than their hosts do for league games???

Match was no contest - huge gulf in class between mid-table STEP02 and lower reaches of STEP04. H&Y looked very good, even accounting for the standard of the opposition.

Horsham fans as usual highly entertaining - big repertoire of 'Lard-based' songs -

.."All you need is Lard"

.."With Lard in my Heart"

.. "No Surrender, No Surrender, No Surrender to the Low Fat Spread"

Maaaate, even I can get through that turnstyle no problem :?

My mate Donuts has to walk round though :D

Was there Saturday for the MUFC game. We were by far the better team in the first half and well deserving of our 2-0 lead until the last 20 minutes or so when we faded badly. In all honesty we were lucky to scrape past them.

We were absolutely delighted when they scored though as it gave us the opportunity to sing ITS JUST LIKE SHOOTING BRAZIL

Metropolitan Police also have NO FANS.

Hayes and Yeading got the begging bowl out

http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/fo ... ld-8191129

2 perfectly fine football clubs ruined by over ambition it seems? What a travesty.

Still i'm sure somebody made a lot of money by selling the old ground for housing!!

Nice little 8-1 win for Windsor against Ash Utd in the CCL Cup last night with Robert Lazarczuk netting 5 times to make it 8 goals for him in 2 games and he's not even a striker.

Bit of a prat in that he irritates the fcuk out of the fans with his general demeanour and indiscipline (regularly getting booked for stupidity, dissent, kicking the ball away, standing in front of a free kick to the oppo and not moving back - all that sort of crap) but he's OUR prat.

magnificent result for Diddy last night, 2-1 winners over Merthyr in the Trophy replay which means the mighty Did are heading to FGR next.

Was scrappy, nervy and tough last night against the best side in the league who will win it by 10 points minimum. Haysham gave Diddy the lead inside 2 minutes and then it was backs to the walls stuff, Merthyr levelled just shy of 70minutes with a free header from a corner and it looked like only one winner at that stage but credit to Didcot they stuck in there raised their game and went and nicked it 5 minutes later. Bit of last ditch defending and a slice of luck and they got through. Scenes.
