Shame Aldershot went out, no fa cup game against them this year.

Word take Slough away in round three or preferably, Oxford away.

Slough would beat Hartlepool.

Yes. Believe Maidenhead and Braintree are the only part time teams in the Conference National

I am probably the only Windsor supporter pleased to see Slough go through.

Great achievement.

Maybe we will match them one day!

Maybe.

Absolutely marvellous evening, despite the weather. Cracking game, good crowd, decent sing-song and I finally saw Slough win a penalty shoot-out! (I missed the B&B Cup one last year v Beaconsfield). General agreement that it was a fair result, even from the Sutton manager Paul Doswell, which is good to hear. Bring on the Gills...

P.S. The 2nd greatest cup competition is in town on Saturday, so for those not braving the delights of Wigan, it's Slough Town v Weston-Super-Mare at Arbour Park in the FA Trophy, for those who fancy an Arbour Park experience...

Tony Le Mesmer I went to Bristol Manor Farm 1 - 2 Highworth Town on Saturday.

Its the closet a train line comes to a football ground. The Bristol TM - Sevenbeach line runs almost down the touchline. there is only enough room for one to stand in front of the railway fence. So there was me, poised with camera in hand, at 3:12 waiting to get the 'money shot' with a Sevenbeach service that never arrived. Bus replacement service weekend, wasnt it.

Superb ground, went there last month for Slough's FAC3Q replay. Can vouch for the narrow railway side, probably the friendliest welcome at any match for years, and the dreadful smell at the far end away from the entrance by the creek...

Went to see Ox City on Tuesday night for the replay against Tranmere.
It didn't quite live up to the 3-3 thriller at Prenton Park and Tranmere had a convincing 2-0 win, they really looked the pro side. A decent attendance for the Hoops.

I recommend a trip to Marsh Lane for anyone wanting something abit different from a non league ground, the 3G pitch is a little odd but their fans are great. Some great pricing for food and drink too!

Didn't see a non-league game this weekend, but went with a mate up to Carlisle. He'd already been to Carlisle, so while I went to Brunton Park, he drove a couple of miles down the road to watch Carlisle City in a North West Counties League Division One Cup tie v Eccleshall.

He was one of only 49 fans there, but had not a bad day, as Carlisle City won 11-2.

My enthusiasm for seeing Reading at Bracknell in the Berks & Bucks Cup has dimmed somewhat after seeing the weather forecast. It looks like pretty much a solid day of rain, and Larges Lane really isn't a venue to visit when it's raining.

W/E NL round-up

Saturday 24th November

FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying

19 Lewes 2-2 Hemel Hempstead Town
20 Bedford Town 2-1 Worthing
21 Salisbury 2-1 East Thurrock United
22 Dorchester Town 1-0 Hungerford Town
23 Slough Town 2-3 Weston super Mare – 2 goals for Harris not enough as W-S-M progress – some indication Sluff may have rested a few for next Sunday’s FA Cup match vs Gills
24 Poole Town 2-3 Dorking Wanderers
25 Weymouth 1-1 St. Albans City
26 Concord Rangers 2-3 Wealdstone
27 Truro City 3-0 Greenwich Borough
att reportedly only 39 - unclear if 'home' or away fans were in the majority. :? ?? - is quite a trek up from Truro to Torquay -pretty close to 2 hours.
– some news is emerging about their future ground prospects – the ‘White Tigers’ are currently sharing at Plainmoor but they may be returning to Treyew Rd in the New Year.
- Bad news is that the development consortium, including Lidl has been dissolved, leaving only the construction developers to continue with the project.
There are repair works required to enable a return but contractually Truro can play there for the remainder of this season. To remain at STEP02 they will either have to find another groundshare agreement (unlikely) or come to an agreement to extend their contract with the developers (JIL) who remain bound to the contract that ensures they could still play there up until at least next September. Could get very messy …….

IL1-SC
Ashford Town (Middx) 0-3 MarlowBlues stay top
Bedfont Sports 4-1 Waltham Abbey
Chalfont St Peter 1-1 Molesey
Egham Town 2-1 Cheshunt
Hertford Town 1-3 Westfield
Tooting & Mitcham United 2-2 Bracknell Town
- was at this – dreadful M’way clog as usual around Chertsey and A3 was reportedly at a standstill close to the M25 nr Cobham, so carried on to jn 9 and headed up the A243. Usual w/e shopping traffic slowed us again from Tolworth and beyond, so arrived more or less at KO – having left with at least 45’ to spare. Fortunately Imperial Fields does have plenty of parking spaces.
- Robins raced into to a deserved 2 goal lead; Seb Bowerman set up Joe Grant for the first and notched the 2nd from the spot although the penalty was announced and credited to Ferdie?
- T&M came into it more 2nd half with the introduction of some lively subs and Bracknell seemed to seize up – Carl Davies did what he could in defence but was out manoeuvred for the first and stranded for the 2nd with the other defenders going missing. Did well to hang on to a point but were still trying to force a win in the last 20’ following the ‘Terrors’ leveller.
- quite a large intimidatory Stadium with banked terracing and seats on three sides giving it an enclosed feel. Some vociferous home fans too but a few hardy E.Baaarks lads could be heard at their end. Was a good fast game and Bracknell probably should have shaded it but did wilt late on especially down the flanks.

SLP-C
St Ives Town 2-2 Banbury UnitedUtd 2 down inside 5’ but fought back late to grab a point
SLP-S
Chesham United 2-1 Frome Town – 2 in the last 10’ for the Generals bring a much needed win – the first scored by veteran striker, Jefferson Louis, who quite possibly could lay claim to having had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. (37 at the last count  )
Farnborough 1-4 Taunton Town
Metropolitan Police 2-0 Staines Town
Tiverton Town 1-1 Hartley Wintney
SL1-C
Aylesbury 0-3 Thame United Thame up to 6th just outside the play-off spots on GD but this division is very tight – Diddy only a point further back are 10th but with games in hand. The Railwaymen welcome Bedford Town to the Loop on Tuesday night

Corby Town 3-2 Aylesbury United
Didcot Town 2-1 Kempston Rovers
Kidlington 2-1 Cambridge City – Kiddy pick up successive wins but remain bottom albeit only on GD from Nor Lye.
Welwyn Garden City 3-0 North Leigh
SL1-S
Fleet Town 4-3 Barnstaple Town – Fleet leap-frog back over Barnstaple at the bottom
Highworth Town 3-1 Melksham Town
Slimbridge 1-3 Winchester City
Thatcham Town
3-3 Cinderford Town – 'Kingfishers' levelled deep in injury time to share the points.

CCLP
Abbey Rangers 5-0 Walton & Hersham
AFC Hayes 3-1 Camberley Town - bit of a shock for Cambo, well-beaten by the club placed last, at KO
Badshot Lea 1-0 Banstead Athletic
Balham 2-2 Knaphill
CB Hounslow United
0-1 Sutton Common Rovers
Cobham 2-2 Spelthorne Sports
Chertsey Town
2-2 Guildford City
Horley Town 3-2 Colliers Wood United
Raynes Park Vale P-P Southall
Redhill 3-2 Hanworth Villa
CCL1
British Airways 3-0 Fleet Spurs
Cove
1-0 FC Deportivo Galicia - 2nd league win for Cove but they remain adrift, 2 points behind ‘Spurs’ who they visit next Saturday.
Dorking Wanderers Res 5-1 Ash United
Eversley & California 2-1 Epsom & Ewell
Farnham Town P-P Bedfont & Feltham
Godalming Town 1-3 Chessington & Hook United
Kensington Borough 1-3 Frimley Green
Sandhurst Town
1-0 Bagshot

HELLP
Fri Binfield 1-2 Flackwell Heath ‘Heathens’ came from behind at Stubbs to grab 5th place before Saturday’s matches – att 108
Abingdon United 1-3 Brackley Town Saints
Ascot United
4-2 Windsor – Windsor’s recent good run (unbeaten in seven conceding only one) comes to a shuddering halt at the Racecourse, against 3rd placed ‘Yellamen’.
A brace apiece for Minhas and Etienne – Ascot were 2 up inside 5’. Their 3rd followed an uncharacteristic mistake from Sobte, mis-kicking out from hand, straight to Minhas who chipped it back in over the stranded keeper. Windsor dragged themselves back but were finished off by Minhas late on (89’)
- Windsor host Flackwell on Tue night, in the B&B Senior Cup before travelling to Erith Town in the Vase on Saturday.

Bishops Cleeve 2-1 Tuffley Rovers
Holmer Green 2-2 Royal Wootton Bassett Town
Lydney Town 1-0 Fairford Town
Shrivenham 4-1 Longlevens
Virginia Water 1-1 Brimscombe & Thrupp

HELL1E
Holyport 5-0 Chinnor
Penn & Tylers Green 1-4 Burnham
Wallingford Town
1-3 AFC Aldermaston

3-2 Abingdon Town - to ensure immediate survival, 'Abbots' have pooled resources, folded their reserve side and intend to run only one Senior side on Saturdays.
HELL Supp
Thame Rangers 1-2 Chalvey Sports
Woodley United 2-0 Pewsey Vale

- And a result of note in One West: the 'Stundents' of New College Sw!nedon finally broke their duck, at the twelfth attempt, with a 3-1 win over Tytherington. The sides are now level at the bottom but NCS are a mere 28 goals worse off!

WESSP
Alresford Town 2-0 Andover New Street
Tadley Calleva

WESS1
Alton 1-2 Hythe & Dibden
Romsey Town 3-1 Petersfield Town

Local journo Rob Stevens: I spoke with Windsor manager Mick Woodham about Carl Davies and his situation at Bracknell Town tonight.

Mick tells me Carl had been “feeling the pain” for a few weeks now had and grown frustrated by people wanting to butt in with his duties at the football club.

He did not sympathise will Carl though as it has gone on record he did the same with previous managers and knew what he was getting into when taking on the job.

Rob Stevens: I’m told Carl has not lost face with any local managers however I quote Flackwell boss Marcus Richardson when saying to be manager of Bracknell Town you need “a strong backbone and eyes in the back of your head” - read into that what you will.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again - he’s a right piece of work that chairman, and it rarely succeeds long-term with an interfering megalomaniac in charge of a club. Implosion may not be just around the corner but it’ll happen in the end.

I can't go into the who's and wheres but this has indeed been coming. I was in a meeting last week at the club and there were rumblings. Mark Tallentire is very much in charge of the football side of things, he does butt in from what I am told. I wouldn't believe all you hear and read about the chairman though, he's nowhere near as bad as is made out. A lot of other local clubs are envious of Bracknell's financial situation, ground and potential and spout a lot of unfounded nonsense which isn't really fair. He's ruthless yes but he doesn't involve himself in team selcetion etc.

Yep, I'd heard a couple of rumours but it sounds like they wanted to get last nights game out of the way first.

First official news I saw of it was his assistant confirming it on Twitter yesterday morning.

Yep. Heard it was Tallentire giving the orders this time around, chairman has been very quiet due to how well the team did last season and the start of this one.

So he just uses his pit bull Tally to do it for him now?

I get the feeling that he was more pally with Davies, and the longer serving players, than he was with Tally so maybe either he didn't want to tread on any toes or just agreed with his ways a bit more.

I wouldn't knock him for the way the club has been progressing though. It's a great facility they have there now and it really seems a club on the up, which is good.

From what I have heard he stays out of team selection and tactics altogether now, he has no need to be involved with the team doing well. He brought Tally in as Football Director to do that side of things and avoid putting himself in that position. Thats from a coach and a player at the club with no reason to lie. Tally still desperately wants to manage the football team IMO and it wouldn't shock me at all if he is named manager. I'm down there Thursday evening for a meeting so I will try to extract information direct from the source..

A Football Director shouldn't be involved in selection and tactics either, unless the manager asks him to be. I'm sure Tally does want to manage though, he's been a manager for years and didn't appear to want to take a back seat at all when he was manager before. It makes appointing him Football Director an odd move, especially with a young Player/Manager who brought in his own staff with him (Geoff Warner and Gavin Smith).

Bracknell Town’s chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse “Some early speculation concerning Mark Tallentire returning to the hot seat won’t be happening as Mark is enjoying his broader Board Level position helping shape the Educational Acadmey, and working on our longer term goals.”
