From Footballwebpages:

Staines Town have announced that former Birmingham City, Portsmouth, Derby County and Bristol City midfielder Martin Kuhl is their new manager, taking over from interim manager Mahrez Bettache, who has been in charge since the departure of Anthony Gale.

Kuhl was most recently manager at Basingstoke Town, leaving the club 'by mutual consent' in September.

Windsor 3-2 Burnham

A few more new faces at Windsor making over 50 players used this season. :shock:

Not a huge amount of quality but a decent battling performance against a side that has beaten us 4 times already this season.

Do Windsor charge the players the league registration fee? Seems like an awful waste of money if not.

...not much 'local' NL surviving this weeks rain - other than the Cup game mentioned at Windsor
- tonights (Wed) NATS game for Sluff at Havant is waterlogged as were games last night involving Tadley, Winch & Cove amongst a fair number of others.

Of the matches played:
NATS leaders, Wealdstone, extended the gap to 7 pts over Slough, with a 2-0 win over Eastbourne; Maidstone and Chipp'num drew a blank in the same division.
In the BetVic Southern Prem Central: top of the table Tamworth were surprisingly beaten 1-2 at home by Needham Mkt.
In the Southern section Gosport and managerless Dorchester shared the points and 8 goals.
In the lower Central level, Nor Lye gained a valuable win 1-0 over WGC - didn't expect that to be on as their pitch can be a bit of a midden in the wet somewhat akin to Scours.
Over in the Southern One South Ciren Town had no problems with the weather (3G) nor eventually with visitors AFC Totton, easing out 2-1 winners. AFC stay ahead of struggling Basingstoke on GD whilst Ciren move up slightly in mid-table.

The CCLP had 3 league games played to a finish - new leaders above Ascot, Spelthorne comfortably won 3-0 at bottom club Hanworth V. and have opened up a 4 point lead.
Southall and Cobham drew 1-1; Frimley Gn bt Molesey 4-2
In CCL1 Sandhurst in 5th place bt near-ish neighbours Ash 2-1 and 4th placed Bedfont & Feltham won 2-1 at Tooting Bec (3rd).

Another surprising 'survivor' was the topsy-turvey Surrey Premier County Cup game at Farnham who romped into the Quarter Finals with a 5-3 win over Old Wilsonians (from the Southern Amateur League) - the 5th which capped a comeback from 2-3 down was scored by the Goalkeeping coach - described as a '30 yd curler'.

In the Hellenic only one league game was played: in the Premier section Fairford firmed up their 2nd place with a 7-1 romp over Ardley:
Still 5 pts behind runaway unbeaten leaders Westfields but now 6 points clear of 3rd placed Shrivenham, whose match at home to Easington was washed out late PM

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and whilst I'm here :mrgreen: ...looking forward to the weekend - preview of the matches scheduled:
Another manager bites the dust at Bracknell!
According to their statement Tally was only an interim. Did he know that?
Bracknell appoint Bobby Wilkinson as new permanent manager.
No idea what's going on anymore, fairly sure nobody does.
Is that the same Bobby Wilkinson who was managing Wealdstone last season?
I feel a bit sorry for Geoff, they've booted him out twice in 6 months now and I know how much he likes the club.
Not sure where else to put this, but apparently (I heard it on TalkSport earlier) the England Women's captain has said how she doesn't really like watching women's football but loves to sit down and watch a mens game.
Not really the kind of soundbite women's football is after.
Results from Sat 14th Dec
FAT Qual R3 Replay
21 Paulton Rovers 1-2 Sholing att 136
FA Trophy 1st Round Proper Attendances shown where known
07 Hednesford Town 0-0 Chester att: 565
15 Yeovil Town 3-1 Welling United 1,554 - probably the highest figure in the Round - though even this is barely half their average crowd - not really surprising for a competition that rarely catches light until the latter stages.
16 Hornchurch 1-0 Dulwich Hamlet 454
17 King's Lynn Town 2-2 Dover Athletic AET (2-2) 4-2p 776
18 Carshalton Athletic 3-3 Aveley 349
19 Eastleigh 6-1 Yate Town 353
20 Tonbridge Angels 2-2 Hampton & Richmond Borough
21 Barnet 2-1 Weymouth 624
- Was at this – fairly new build in a large open space - technically in Harrow/Edgware
- the site (Prince Edward Playing Fields) had a fairly chequered development history with Wealdstone FC initially putting in a lot of funds to get the stadium project underway but were let down by an investment partner; at which point Barnet stepped in and got the go ahead from Harrow Council to take over and essentially (to date) exclude the Stones from gaining benefit.
– Plenty of practice pitches dotted about – ground possibly sized for a return to league crowds – certainly has a feel of a league venue about it - mostly all seated - and prices to match.
- Only needed to open up about a quarter of the ground today.
- Big bar under the ‘Legends’ stand was holding a table football tournament
- Traffic back home SW was an absolute pig whichever side route I tried to get off the stationary N.Circular to get down to the A40.
- Weymuff unlucky to go out – Bees had a bit more quality where it mattered; up front and in Central Mid.
Four Of Clubs Winchester City 3-0 Willand Rovers – hat-trick for Barron as City stay 3rd
]
My first game for a while. Their captain got sent off giving away the pen that gave our skipper his hat trick.
Their player manager then showed solidarity by getting sent off himself, though he was only on the bench at the time. Willand looked pretty good, and were coming off 4 straight wins, but they are a dirty side, and apart from the reds, got, I think, 4 yellows.
Comfortable win in the end, but a bit messy. The pitch was only just playable and cut up badly, players were slipping and passes were going astray after hitting divots.
Bloody cold too. But three points and City are cementing themselves in the play offs.
Thatcham's home defeat gives some hope that top spot isn't a done deal. (Frome are only top due to the number of games they've played).
(I said earlier in the season that having Basingstoke playing at our ground would be a problem for the pitch when the weather got wetter, and so it is proving.)
FAT Qual R3 Replay
16 Hornchurch 1-0 Dulwich Hamlet 454
Dulwich are struggling at the moment. There are rumblings on their board along the lines that maybe their (once much loved and respected) manager may have to go if he can't turn things around soon.
Winchester City[/b] v Bideford
]
Winchester v Bideford has been postponed already - waterlogged pitch.
Given how far Bideford have to travel, it was a sensible move to call it off early.
