Four Of Clubs ...suspect tomorrow nights game at the SimplyHealth might well be off, as the forecast for the area is currently showing it to be 'hurling' it down from early-PM 'til late. Then again with strong winds that could all have changed by tomorrow?

...may have to a have a re-think about where to go :|
- Bulpit La has occasionally survived Armageddon -type 'tip downs' so might be an outside chance of playing? (B&B Hungerford v Bracknell)

Then again the prognosis is worse, the further west you look? :(

In the other direction, York Rd might endure for the Trophy replay (Maidenhead v Halesowen)
- chances of heavy rain through the evening are slightly reduced.....

Normal admission prices - unsegregated and the Bell (St) End :P entrance is closed.
Adults £15
Concs £10 (SENIOR CITIZEN/UB40/NUS)
U16 £5

Tonight's game at Scours (HELL1E Woodley vs Diddy 'Dev') was called off mid-PM. They'll try again next Monday (20th Jan)

In the Midlands (Southern Premier - Central) Stourbridge v Royston was postponed around 17:00h .... and further south Hitchin v Leiston started and was abandoned on 39' after twenty mins of torrential downpours.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Should the 'Magpies get through tomorrow or whenever they manage to play ... : here's the line-up for the next Round (last 16) in early Feb
FA Trophy 3rd Round Draw (to be played on February 8th)
Ebbsfleet United v Royston Town
Harrogate Town v Eastleigh
FC Halifax Town v Halesowen Town or Maidenhead United
Farsley Celtic or Barnet v Barrow
Dorking Wanderers or Stockport County v AFC Fylde
Aveley v Chelmsford City
Yeovil Town v Notts County
...and 'lifted' straight from NLM (the nice chap on there has provided est. travel distances :mrgreen: ) ... here's the no longer regionalised Vase draw - some trek for West Auckland;
...and all three Western league sides have been drawn at home - should cut their odds?
FA Vase 5th Round draw
Also scheduled for Saturday 8th February
There will not be any replays from this round onwards
1. Corinthian (SCEP) v Sporting Khalsa (MIDP) (312 miles round trip)
2. Bradford Town (WSTP) v Leighton Town (SSMP) (203 miles)
If anyone is desperate to watch Winchester City over the next couple of weeks, we have 4 games to choose from over an 8 day period.
Sat 18th Highworth Town (A)
Tues 21st Paulton Rovers (A) (Southern League Cup)
Thur 23rd Blackfield & Langley (H) (Soton Snr Cup)
Sat 25th Evesham United (H)
Gives a few youngsters a chance I suppose, but FFS. We take these minor cups vaguely seriously, and this is the thanks we get.
God awful draw for Eastleigh who have been playing the kids pretty much every round.
Yep - would need to finish bottom and lose a play-off for that to happen though. Massive fall from grace and poor running of the club.
Thame Rangers
4-2 Langley
Wallingford Town
3-1 Penn & Tylers Green
Wokingham & Emmbrook 1-0 Kidlington Development
WESSP
AFC Stoneham 2-0 Baffins Milton Rovers – game and new complex, described by an anorak (and occasional fellow ‘cud-chewer’ :mrgreen: ) as dull and uninspiring.
- Over-complicated registration process required, to be granted access to the Senior football facility from the Reception point at the complex – or in advance on-line.
- Apparently the Hants FA have built this primarily to provide facilities for the local ‘yoof’ (Sounds a bit like ‘Goals’ out at Bulmershe only with a full-sized all-weather floodlit pitch tacked on)
- no Bar either, so difficult to see how Stoneham will make any money from the move over the M27 from where they were: up beyond Eastleigh’s ground. Not that they had any decent facilities up there either once the Golf Club had closed/been knocked down - just a collection of portakabins when I went and a half built covered stand..
- Not one I’m keen to rush to yet, just to ‘re-complete’ the ‘mainland’ Wessex league.
Alresford Town 3-0 Amesbury Town
Hamworthy United 1-3 Fleet Town
Lymington Town 5-2 Tadley Calleva
WESS1
Alton 1-0 Andover Town att 126
- We got round a blissfully quiet anti-clock M25 to :
Southern Counties East Div One
Kent Football United 0-1 Lewisham Borough (Community)
- Pretty shabby bit of Dartford just north of the A225 - mercifully close to jn 2 of the Orbital.
- Very plush social club outside the ground – work in progress for the football club – plenty of temporary buildings dotted about – lots of space to develop tucked in behind Farifield leisure centre in Dartford Central Park
- Hosts were bottom but were slightly hard done by, as Borough rather pinched the points very late on; just when it looked as if they’d be frustrated by a dogged rearguard.
- First half KFU had an even share of chances but tired badly after the break.
Epic game at Binfield on Saturday, great atmosphere too. Opposition goalkeeper scored the winning penalty shoot-out kick.
... mixed mostly poor night for our local sides where the games beat the frost tonight.
Maidenhead crashed out of the Trophy deservedly beaten 1-3 by Halesowen in front of a fairly low turnout at York Rd (275).
Brackley lost by the only goal at Boston in the NATN
In SL Prem South - HandY were beaten 1-2 at home by Poole and leaders Chesham were unexpectedly thumped 4-1 at strugglers Yate.
Bottom club Dorchester's woes continued with a narrow 1-0 defeat at Supermarine
In the Central Div One Marlow's game at Northwood failed to beat the frost.
In the CCL Ascot slumped again at home 1-2 v Molesey , Spelthorne drew nearer with a win @ Cobham moving back to 2nd above Knaphill who played out a stalemate at home to Abbey.
Over in the Hellenic on Monday night Binfield put their upset in the Vase behind them with a 5-1 romp at home to Flackwell. On the same night in the One East section Woodley shared 4 goals with Diddy Dev at Scours.
Tonight Burnham's scheduled league game with Ardley was frozen off. Unbeaten leaders Westfields stride on albeit with a narrow 2-1 win over Bps Cleeve.
In the division below Wokingham got a decent 2-0 win up at The Heights vs Milton.
Copied from FB non league group.... :cry:
On nights like this , the trials and tribulations of your football team are irrelevant. Tonight I went to Rayners Lane FC to watch a Middlesex Premier Cup 2nd round tie between St Panteleimon and Cockfosters reserves. Nothing untoward happened in the fist half with the Saints two nil up. Second half Cockfosters were the better team and if I'm honest I was troubled by the Saints performance , something was amiss and a goal by Cockfosters would have made it a nervy finish to the game. I was stood by the Saints dugout with the regular Saints supporters when I noticed Saints manager George take a call on his mobile phone. I said to my mates 'that's weird taking a call during a match' . The next minute everyone present will never forget the noise emanating from George's mouth as he collapsed on the side of the pitch. The game was stopped by the official as players ran to their manager. One of the Saints players had phoned earlier to say he was running late as he was stuck in traffic. He still hadn't shown up with about 15 minutes to go. The phone call was from a former Saints player who was with ' Thiago' on his way to the game and who had been killed in an accident, crushed to death by a lorry. After about 3 or 4 minutes of discussions with both teams it was agreed the game would be abandoned. As you can imagine all the Saints players were in bits.
It will now be up to the Middlesex FA to decide what happens with the tie. But to be honest I really don't care after tonight. All the Saints players didn't hang around in the clubhouse after which was understandable. On Saturday top of the table Saints are due to host second placed Winslow United. Not sure if it will still be on but like I said, it doesn't matter. Tonight it's all about Thiago and his family and team mates. — at Rayners Lane F.C.
All well and good moving into Winklebury which has potential, but no good if you end up in the Wessex League.
Agreed
They were meant to be playing at Winklebury by now. The diggers have started work at the Camrose,
and they've had a point deducted for fielding a player who was on a ban.
Not good.
Windsor 7- 2 Brackley Town Saints
:shock:
A terrific performance from Windsor against the team in 4th. Apart from the recent 0-3 loss at home to Flackwell Heath (which can be largely discounted as it was played during the recent near hurricane) we have looked a decent team of late, having previously drawn with runaway leaders Westfields.
It’s taken a while but the manager seems to have pulled a decent squad together finally.
Mitchell Parker...what a local journeyman
Seems to gravitate from team to team several times per season, does he have ‘issues’ or does his job dictate what and where he plays?
.... bit of an odd one - I had my suspicions when I noticed his feats yesterday out of the blue (orange :mrgreen: ) yesterday
- I'm sure I'd seen or heard he'd 'stropped off' from Hartley late last year over non-selection issues and promptly turned up back at Scours Lane with Reading City.
Seems he hadn't burnt his bridges and has been welcomed back at STEP03. Sam Argent was in their line-up yesterday too - evidently decided he'd be better off coming back than manning the sinking ship that is Basingstoke. :?
EDIT - bit out of date that :oops: actually he's moved back from Gosport whom he joined at the start of 19/20 season.
I also think they have Adam Cornell in their front line too - recently moved over from Bracknell links up with other recent ex-Robin and Rebel winger Joe Grant.
