SPECULATION - Romelu Lukaku

by Kingsley Junior » 31 May 2012 16:03

He doesn't appear to have his own thread, just the odd mention here or there, so in the light of the following article, how about a loan move to Reading?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18284627

Romelu Lukaku said rather than "During the conversation with the manager I will see whether he's serious about me or not. If not, I will go away on loan. I have to play," he added.

Not the natural finisher?

Theres a reason Chelsea paid the sum of money that they did! Incredible goalscoring record at his young age. A considerable amount of talent that is being put to waste in the Chelsea reserves should be in and around the first team without a doubt now Drogba has left.

Would love to see him in blue and white hoops even if it was only for a season. The guy has most of the attributes required to be a sucessful PL player big, powerful, pacey and yes he is an awesome finisher and will only get better with age!

RUMOUR - Romelu Lukaku

by tomrfcurz » 12 Jun 2012 15:37

I have heard that Reading have enquired about taking Lukaku on loan from Chelsea for a minimum of 6 months. Reading want the whole season but Chelsea may only want to give him 6 months of experience at another Premier League club.

Wages should not be a problem in theory as i have been told and would have assumed anyway that he is not in the upper echelons of Chelsea's pay structure. Lukaku himself has already said he's interested in going out on loan and Di Matteo last year said he wouldn't mind giving him some more experience but was not interested in selling him. With it looking like RDM will stay at Chelsea as full time manager things may move with this.

From what i've been told he looks almost certain to leave on loan unless Chelsea fail to sign a striker who can fill the boots of Drogba before the start of the season. As a big fan of the English leagues as well, Di Matteo may prefer him to join RFC than to go to someone like Lyon or Fiorentina who i believe are also interested.

This is nothing concrete yet and is by no means a near done deal but Reading HAVE enquired. I'd imagine the response to that enquiry would have been a positive one but on conditions and we'll see if Reading want to entertain those conditions.

Not a natural goalscorer apparently. I heard he only scored 121 goals in 68 games between 2004-6.

Err.. hang on
