I'd be very surprised if there was any substance to this. Whilst I think CC is a fantastic player, we have ample quality of back to goal strikers in POG and Roberts. If we are in the market for a striker it will surely be a on the shoulder striker in the mould of long or defoe.

Added to which, didn't Cole start for WHU yesterday? If he's considered surplus to requirements due to Sam buying preferred options I wouldn't expect him to be starting games (unless 23 of WHUs 24 strikers are injured at the mo'?).

RFC are currently being attached to so many potential transfers that 5m for CC does not seem to be a goer. We are looking at wingers if the rumours are correct and, should we wish for a forward, Rhodes, over a 4-year contract, would cost less than Cole!

Blackburn had £6 million turned down for Rhodes (if they and Huddersfield are to be believed) - he has no Prem experience, a couple of games at Championship level and an international cap for an awful side.

Cole has at least scored at the top level!

This was never on! Church is only going on loan if someone comes in. Roberts only has a calf strain. After tonight we don't play for two and a half weeks.. We're looking at strikers but Cole has never been one of them.

To be honest it is more likely we won't be signing anyone and Carlton Cole is just a name in the mix. If I were you I wouldn't get too worked up about it and remember that we beat West Ham last year because of the team that BM had moulded together, which may just have included a few players other clubs didn't want.

well some of todays papers saying Nicky Maynard is going to Cardiff, so I think it's very unlikly Carlton Cole will be sold.

if he is and Maynard is sold to Cardiff then I find it a staggering move as it will then mean West Ham will of sold 3 of our 4 strikers.
