Funnily enough I was in the Marriot Riviera La Porte De Monaco at the weekend and imagine my surprise when I got out the lift, walked into the lobby, and bumped straight into Gylfi signing in at reception. (Spurs were playing AS Monaco that night.)

Tbh I was in such a tizzy at seeing him that I just nodded at him as if I knew him and by that time I'd missed my chance.

However, I did notice that he was holding up a placard saying: 'I want to sign for Reading FC.'

As an aside, I later bumped into that Stelios bloke from EasyJet on the quayside there.

Call me optimistic but to me that's a clear indication that he wants to sign for us.

Bum is getting excited.

Hi guys - Gylfi here, just sitting in Quantum Web Cafe using the wi-fi. Some chap called genome left his account logged in, so I thought I'd take the opportunity to speak to you guys.

I've been up to the stadium today to chat with Nicky Hammond, just ironing out some details in the contract and I will hopefully finalise the deal to be announced early next week. I can't wait to pull on the blue and white hoops again - feels like home.

This deal has been a long time coming, I was legally obliged to wait for Simon Church's move to be finalised, as I currently have a restraining order on him after he tried to bum me in Nandos.

Regards,
Gylfi.

I heard the Gylfi deal is off because he's been bullied by a rogue group of nobbers.

Apparently someone at Charlton has put some feelers out to see if Sigurdsson is available.

That's less surprising than that person getting two goals in the Carling Cup

Clubs put unrealistic 'feelers' like this out all the time, just in case something can come of it, it's not exactly news. I know Bristol City have enquired about Billy Sharp. He wont be going there this season though...
