They say never go back but .............

by bracksroyal10 » 03 May 2016 14:05

Planning ahead of next season, would there be any ex royals who you would like to see in the squad for next season?

For me candidates who would offer something to the team still would have to be:

Mr Cereal Quest - (Morrison) - replace the aerial threat from Cooper should he go
Le Fondre - natural finisher
Doyle - aerial ability and work rate
Sidwell - Mr simple

With our finances that'd be Shane Sigurdsson and Gylfi Long though.

Le Fondre - natural finisher - Yeah - but he's not really what we want given the blend we have available
Doyle - aerial ability and work rate - LOL, no.
Sidwell - Mr simple - No thanks

Alex McCarthy - no brainer
Jen Karacan - yeah, maybe to bring some tempo to our midfield
Alex Pearce - as 4th choice
Kwesi Appiah - worth a punt for some genuine pace again up front

+1

Go for Federici if we can't get McCarthy.

Would get Kebe in on trial and see how he shapes up these days.He might still have some pace in the tank

Would also take a look at McAnuff(yes really)

Trevor Senior came back. He was just as good in his second spell as he was in his first.
Adie Williams came back and we immediately improved.
Eddie Howe went back to Bournemouth and look at them now.

Some players and managers suit each other.

Maybe Alfie should come back.

Unlike all of them though, Alfie never actually managed to make himself a first team regular.

Oh yes....... Big mistake letting him go.... Better than 90% of the current squad.

Didn't his season end because of an ACL injury? With a player as reliant on pace as him you'd have to be doubtful.
