I wouldn't pay 8 euros for him, greatly overrated, a player with bags of skill but not the mental application. Just because we had a song about him doesn't make him any good (same goes for Piazzon great pedigree & ability, but no heart)

Why would he go to Villa? Steve Clarke never played him.

On that note, how long until Vydra gets linked with Villa?

Dunno - but he was the stand out player when we dicked them in the FA Cup this year - so I'd imagine that might be why they have some reported interest in him...

Yes, Clarke brought him in and then barely played him.

Not sure who's writing this drivvle possibly his agent ! £4m (or €6m) is simply fantasy ... As for wasting money on Sa, he looked a reasonable signing until BM took over ..

He looked a reasonable signing for one game (maybe two if you include Brentford away) in the rest he got sent off for a stupid headbutt and was more wasteful than Kermogant.

Was never a sending off ! I can't remember kergormant scoring that many ?

While soft, he made the motions of a headbutt, that's a red card by the letter of the law.

Sounds like it's not out of the realms of fiction we'll try for him again, going on quotes so far.

The dutch component couldn't hurt, having Jaap as manager. He's in the last season of his deal, if he's still there and they want him gone so badly perhaps we can get a loan with a view to perm in towards the end of the window. Unlikely, admittedly.

I just don't see his value to us being more than £1m. He's such a big work in progress, with us needing such a lot of rebuilding, I don't see how we can spend that and do enough elsewhere. Unless we have big bids expected for Williams or Norwood. And we should be doing everything we can to keep Norwood.

It would still be a tough decision to take him even on a free, not sure you could justify his wages and place in a squad when you have to watch the cash, when he is too inconsistent and appeared to be incapable of playing 90 minutes week in week out.

Must be better options available than him, and to pay a transfer fee to get him, no thanks.

There's a worrying element here of the owners possibly wanting him despite the advice of Hammond and McDermott....

I wonder if this might actually be the trigger for Hammond leaving and McDermott's sacking?

It's pretty clear McDermott didn't want him or the other loanees back and £3m would have to be a verry large slice of the budget which he'd presumably object to being spent on someone he didn't want rather than his targets.

Not saying it's true... but the possibility is there. And it would be an exceptionally bad sign if that is the case.

I would rather take any money earmarked for Ola John, spend it elsewhere and give the likes of Fosu and Stacey a shot, by the sounds of it we're in for Cotterill who, according to Charles Watts has a release clause of £1.1m, frankly much better value.
