Seems like a stupid signing.

Expensive older big name from abroad.

Probably true then

I find especially with online behaviour that at some point there's no longer any reason to continue an argument, just block the other person and move on, it's much better for your mental health.

31 is hardly old and if he has cancelled his contract at Inter he may not be that expensive.

Will judge the deal as and when it completes but he can cover the entire left side and had CL experience just iast season.

I'm not entirely serious.

Ah OK. After a long week, hard to tell sometimes.

Reported we can afford his 52k wages, which does seem crazy but are demanding a rigorous medical first hence Inter close to agreeing a termination. 2.5m a year with no transfer fee is I guess doable if all other deals are loans.

He is still very likely a much too good for our level, so if he is fit this would be a bit of a coup.

See the parentheses, meaning a quote.
Some of you guys really do have too much time on your hands, although we know in OMA's case he doesn't work.

Yeah. You quoted the Americanised spelling of the word and said it didn't have an "s" in it. It does. Silly Billy.

We don't live in America though do we ?

You seem to be missing the point that I understand your intention but your execution was ambiguous. Get over it.

It does. With no transfer fee it is probably manageable but still not a good figure to see. That figure comes from a Ghanian football website so wouldn't take it as gospel.

Would be preferable if they agree a lower wage say half that and get the rest as a promotion bonus.

Anyone defending the prospect of this kind of signing, even on half those wages, is bonkers in the head!

But then all the rumours about it look bollocks anyway so no need to get ourselves all excited about it!

The EFL won’t let us sign a player on a 52,000 wage. We must be including a huge load of financial incentives to compromise.

I'd struggle with the size of that wage if we were already in the PL.

I find it hard to believe it's only be a one year contract too.

Really hope that's bobbins but I'd believe any idiocy of Dai at this point,

I wouldn't be keen on signing Messi for £52k a week in our position.

2.7 mill a year on a two year contract? Meh, 5 mill these days in the championship isn’t that out the question.

This guy would be the business in our league - easily worth £52k a week if Moore and Aluko are on £45k plus

The more important question is can we? Paunovic appeared to suggest we will be focusing on loan signings [and free transfers] on Thursday.

Well I don’t know do I :| I don’t sit on the board. However 5 mill cost to us over 2 years doesn’t seem outrageous if we are not paying a fee for him. We paid circa 2.5 mill for vydra a few years ago and he was never owned by us, at least if true this guy will be an asset. Whether we can or can’t is the million dollar question. My guess is yes.

£52k a week isn't what I want to be hearing.

I'd be pissed off if we were paying that, even if we could afford it.

Me neither. It would mean we hadn’t learn anything from the excesses of the past few years.
