SCIAG Think the best way to accommodate Swift is to rotate the front four so that each of Swift, Ejaria, Olise, Meite, and Joao is rested for one game in five. Gives you a potential matchwinner on the bench.

I can see the case for switching Rinomhota and Holmes late on when pushing for a goal. Rino would offer a bit more width and pace while Holmes has more presence and a better passing range. But other than that it makes no sense to weaken the midfield in order to marginally improve at right back.

Problem with the first part is that at least one player, maybe all is constantly moving position. Not great IMO.

All except Joao are pretty capable of doing that though, and often do it in games

Probably not worthy of their own threads yet but the following names have cropped up on Twitter this evening:

Benfica striker Gonçalo Ramos

18-year-old winger Bruno Tavares is still on Reading’s radar

Maybe on the radar but will we able to sign them given the new Brexit transfer rules. Would imagine these sort of deals are the exact kind they are designed to make very difficult so that an English 18 year old gets the chance instead.

Back in the 80s I used to think Tavares was pronounced in the same way as the surname of former England batsman Chris Tavare.

Said it like that for years. I can only imagine what people thought. That Chris Tavare and his family had set up their own band probably.

I was embarrassingly corrected on it by someone years after I had started saying it.

I think the Chris Tavare family were a bit dull, played songs with a very slow beat. Radio 2 material
