tidus_mi2 I think it's fine to give him an applause like you sometimes do with former players.

No more than some half hearted applause I would suggest. Just sort of Oh look there's that guy who used to play for us. Clap clap. End.

Yeah basically, was a positive influence but wasn't here long.

Signed for WBA. Gave a very good account of himself while he was here, but those performances didn't really translate into points, so won't be anywhere near as big a loss as people are making out imo.

The amount of stick WBA and Andy Carroll is getting on Twitter from their ungrateful fans is quite unbelievable. Obviously haven't bothered to see how he did with us. If they get on his back like that, he might well wish he'd stayed with us.

sounds a pretty toxic place at the moment as well. At least he'll be used to it

Not for starters. It was literally the only game we won while he was here.

The bloke did us a favour coming here for a measly £1000 a week. He worked his socks off and deserves his move to a club better suited to his level.

Anyone really surprised?! A grand a week, came to us after not having a club for three months, proved his fitness and now has a gig for a team fighting at the other end of the table. Fair play to him and was great having him with us.

There was no way he could be paired up top with Joao - so with Joao back fit (and hopefully staying fit) lets hope he can get back firing, he has quality which is clear to see. When Meite and Ovie properly return there is no doubt in my mind that we will revert back to 4-2-3-1.

He's being spoken about like some sort of of club legend on social media. :|

He's a mercenary who came to us to get a better deal somewhere else and fair play to him.

Don't think he's being spoken about as a club legend but he's come to the club, put in solid performances, provided us with some good moments that have helped us secure some points and overall gave everyone a positive feeling from the minute he signed, he allowed the club to have some sort of positivity during this awful season.

All the best to him, he deserved to be earning far more and playing higher than where we are now as well, which is what he's done by securing a better contract at WBA. I'm sure Pauno, the staff and the players knew that could be the case throughout his tenure.

Jeez, our luck is so bad this season that it's not only our own players' buggered hamstrings that screw us up. Seems West Brom came after Carroll as a replacement for Dike who they signed from MLS at the start of January and who then promptly did his hamstring in!

Good luck to him and hopefully he can fire the Baggies to second place and prevent the cherries from going up.

Hound feel like Pauno has wasted quite a lot of time and effort trying to get him to sign on with us. Shame but we've not a lot to offer him at the moment tbh

Think Carroll probably made up his mind by about the 60th minute v Fulham.

Gourley is there isn`t he, he`s probably given him £100k a week and a five year contract.

Very complimentary on his twitter feed, but he wont think twice twice when he thumps in the header that sends us down to L1.

Some Baggies fans are apparently really critical of WBA over this signing saying it’s a real lack of ambition and how utterly useless he was when Reading turned and pretended to play football just before Xmas. They’ll apparently now have Carroll, Zohore and Hugill fighting over the one striker spot they usually play.

Got to feel a bit for Carroll having signed up only to see Bruce announced as manager a few days later.

They're free to release him if they want, of course at that point he can only play for us this season if anyone were to offer him a contract.

Hugill has gone to Cardiff hasn't he?
