NathStPaul Why is there a massive clamour for Andy Carroll to return? He is 33 years old and injury prone and expensive. Are you all seriously suggesting there aren't younger players out there available on a free transfer that are in a similar mould?

Of course there are and we will and probably should move for one of them but he was more than decent when he was here, so can understand why there is a comfort in him coming back. Wouldn't be unhappy if he signed but wouldn't be upset if he didn't.

Remained injury free last season, which given he was here for a couple of months is a minor miracle.

Basically what Stranded said below and why is he expensive? Some sources suggesting he was earning £10k p/w at WBA in his short time there. Not sure why there is a reference to PL wages of the past when we know that players who drop from that level to this level, particularly towards the back end of their careers, tend to be on far inferior wages.

He was decent for wba as well from what I heard

Short term signing for a short term problem. Makes sense to me, but if we can find someone better then great
