Sam Hutchinson

@DebatesSwfc 20h

Apparently Sam Hutchinson is on trial at Reading.
Good luck to him. #swfc

Has a lot of fans because he was with us from almost promotion to the Prem until last season.
Past his best, was a commanding CM in his prime but now a tough tackling CB.
Had a good season overall but legs don't have many miles left.

Tough tackling very smart CB. Can read a game better than most, gutted we didn’t re sign him. Plays every game like it’s his last and leaves everything out on the pitch

========================================

By all accounts a decent ball playing CB, but if left isolated will get ruined by pace. Wednesday fans would have preferred to keep him on at the club, on their bench...

Has been briefly mentioned elsewhere on here - imagine he'll get game time v Colchester on Saturday.

No problem with signing him if he shows enough in training - could do a job for us in the short term.

Looks like he can play the defensive Midfield enforcer role if needed, atleast he is a midfield option rather than shoe horning Mcintyre in to it.

In terms of pedigree and quality, he's an absolute yes.

In terms of pace, it's got to be a no.

We cannot afford a stable of centrebacks with zero pace. Would happily have taken him or Morrison over Dann. But we signed Dann.

And if he's struggling for the legs at CB, he's not going to have them for midfield. Although he's going to be better than Osorio for the time being probably.

Does seem we want to get another experienced, big, strong CB in. Which is interesting as Ince loved Holmes last year (and Holmes responded with some good displays)

Wonder if they are thinking about 3 big lumps at the back

I appreciate that Saturday’s game against Colchester is being played behind closed doors but are we likely to get any team news about trialists? Do we have any spies going to Bearwood?

Not sure about this. I don't mind him as a squad player, but not sure if he is cut out for this level no more. Hopefully he can prove me wrong if we were to end up signing him however.

Retired aged 21 with a knee injury, knee recovered better than expected and he’s done well to build himself a career.

Not what we’re short of right now.
