Kitson Windfall

by 1871royals » 09 Apr 2009 13:30

BBC are reporting if we get promoted we will pay 4.8 Mill for Kits. Majority of stuff in media is hearsay, I find it surprising a fee has been already agreed. One argument could be that it adds more weight to Kits claims that Hammond said it was one of the most complicated transfers he has ever done.

I don't think its true, debatable if Kits is worth that much, imo he isn't.

I wouldn't wanna pay that much for Kitson.

He didn't exactly set Stoke on fire. Half the price we paid for him would be better. Coppell doesn't normally spend anything like that.

Most likely we aren't going up so that's money well saved.

Agreeing a fee of £4.8m for Kitson if promoted to the premiership is utter madness.

Mr C and Sir John have lost the plot.

Probably more spin so the chairman can harp on how much we have spent & lost.

If we spend £4.8million on him then everyone remotely connected with the transfer should be sacked instantly.

1stly- if we recieved 5.5 m straight off for kits ill eat me hat

secondly:

its probably they are saving 4.8 million, as in all teh sell on and goal, staying up bonus' that were in the deal that theyll no longer have to pay

and its probably written like that just to placate the stoke fans who will rightly be pissed off at losing money on such a poor transfer

theres no way we'll be paying 4.5 m for anyone, let alone kits

Spot on

This would probably amount to little more than cancelling out the original sale but I'm guessing the Stokies are already looking elsewhere given our current form :|

Haven't read the thread because we wont go up and Kitson wont be here next season, but we wont be paying anything like that fee on bbc sport. Money is still owed to us from Stoke, so that will be inclusive of any agreed fee. But it doesn't matter, it aint happening!

Part of the fee we'll be owed will be dependent on Stoke staying up, which looks tragically likely so we'll get that portion if not any amounts related to goals / appearances by Kitson.

We won't go up, and he'll go back to Stoke to star in their "second season syndrome" relegation and eventually be offloaded to another club.

I'd welcome Kits back here on a permanent basis, but only for a sensible fee.

I think it ight breakdown as Stoke agreeing to pay us 5.5mill

They have already paid a fee of 700k thus still owing 4.8mill

Pending promotion this will be waivered so in effect they have paid us 700k for him for half a season?????

Kitson To Stay After His Loan Spell ?

by tomrfcurz » 12 Apr 2009 14:13

I can't see Stoke nor any of their fans wanting him back after he was quoted saying it was the worst mistake of his footballing career leaving RFC for Stoke etc etc. Would you want him to stay after, lets admit it a pretty lack lustre return to the mad stad.

Not unless we are promoted because:

1. Brum also want him and are more likely to be promoted than us
2. Reading won't pay the 2-3M Stoke will want for him If we are still Championship
3. If Coppell leaves (and most think he will) then all will depend on who the new manager is but 1 and 2 above will still apply before this one does.
