Would seem a strange one after us signing Williams. Bristol City need a left back though......

Will Williams be forced to surrender his number 3 shirt ?

Bertrand could comfortably play in midfield, although we're not too short there !!

If true then fantastic. Williams will just have to play 2nd fiddle for a season.

So a left back at right back, and a right back at centre back :|
The sad reality of that is, with our lack of centre backs, it is a distinct possibility.
Whilst I'd love Bertrand to come back, centre back is without doubt the main priority at the moment.

Bertrand can do a job at left mid.

I would rather sign him than see him go to brizzle.

What utter crap, how on earth are we interested in Bertrand when we've got Williams and have much more pressing need at centre back?

Still hope its true though

Probably just lazy journalism from some hack that's failed to see that we've signed a left-back in pre-season.

Probably means Jobi has signed for QPR on the hush and we'll use Bertrand as left midfield

Even though Coppell's been slating the loan system again and we don't need a LB? Think not.

^Hope you're wrong, BigFers.

Read an article on this on some Bristol newspaper's website yesterday (linked from the Beeb) - think he will end up at Brizzle as it appears Coppell has realised that there's not a lot of money at AG to buy players with.

Seriously, use him as a left mid and he'd be quality. This would give us cover for both LB and LM and would make a lot of sense.

Why would we have signed Williams if we could afford Bertrand?

Chelsea still hoping he a Prem side will take. Everyone who needs a left back will be all over Bertrand.

We need a centre half, so why waste money on a 2nd choice left back when things are so tight?

If Chelsea pay his wages then not getting Berti back on loan is surely a no brainer. We couldn't rely on getting him again this year so we signed Williams, but I see no problem in having 2 left backs in the sqaud. Bertrand is a quality player and we shouldn't turn down the opportunity, assuming it fits into our budget.

Chelsea will want a loan fee and the club to pay all his wages.

Even with out in side knowledge, their would clearly be enough teams after the lad for Chelsea to just name a price.

And Sig can play left midfield if needed.

Agree with this. Would love to have him back, but makes no sense as we have Williams.

He's a left back too - he'd do a job further up the field midfield if required, but not better than what we already have in left mid/wing.
