Platypuss Just seen the highlights - VERY lucky to survive the handball shout - IMO most refs nowadays would have given it and a red card too.

Snowball Two things.
The Donny manager didn't think Ingi's handball deserved a penalty.
Kebe's pass was from 10-15 yards inside his own half. Great ball, but that IS "a long ball"

I think there's a difference between a long ball which is hoofed hopefully into an area, in the hope that the forward will hold it up and bring someone into play (or win it in the air), and a ball which travels a decent distance but which is intended to release a player in behind the defence.
Quality ball from Kebe - something I would never have expected to see from him. Well done that man.

NR_Royal Interesting to see Donny fans judgement on Kebe...http://www.drfc-vsc.co.uk/index.php?opt ... &id=134872

Ian Royal The handball rule is a tricky one. I don't think it was a deliberate attempt to handle the ball necessarily, but his arms were spread wide for no real reason and he (and we) very clearly gained an advantage from it.

It was for balance, as with most instances where people say "I don't know his hands were doing there" when it's ball to hand.

Normally I'd agree with you it's about balance - I hate the argument that you should have your arms tight by your side the entire time, it's ludicrous and fails to understand basic natural physicality IMO. But in this case we was so spread and his arms so wide I don't think it's a strong enough defence.
