Arch So you think that one of the other three with 24 points or less are going to end up with at least 38? I've got to say I doubt it.

You will need 38 points to stay up!

"Yes" would have sufficed.

15 to 17 points in 9 games

by rhroyal » 09 Mar 2013 18:43

That will put us on 38 to 40 points.

We have to play Man Utd and Arsenal away, and Man City at home. Also Liverpool at home, who are inconsistent, but could feasibly blow us away if they turn up.

So if we lose these 4, we need to win the other 5. Or we need to take points from some of these games. Think we could spring surprises at Fulham, Norwich and West Ham as we won't have the pressure of playing at home, and these 3 have little at stake.

However, even if we did pick up some great results from the fixtures mentioned above, I can see us imploding against QPR and Soton. Our poor record against the bottom 5 will send us back where we deserve to be on the evidence of this season.

Please don't. We haven't beaten any teams in the bottom 5 this season, not won away, our confidence is shot and we'll be lucky to pick up one more win.

Let's just go quietly into the night.

might pick a few points with draws but cant see us winning any I say that as I believe there is not enough quality in the side

All season you numpties, have been forcasting where we will pick the points up, we haven't played dominating or pressing football, look at all the stats, we aint going to get many more points, we will get zilch form QPR and Southampton, put us out of our misery now.

The way we have played recently is hard to see where any more points will come from.

QPR and Wigan are on the up (as are Villa after winning today) and Soton seem to be dominating games without taking their chances, the best thing for them would be to play us where they are bound to score a hatfull!

That said we seem to up our game against the Manures, Chelsea's and Man Cittahs. The only team we didn't do well against was Spurs... But maybe our team didn't consider them as the top 4

14 points will be plenty IMO - still an unlikley ask though.
My promise to be at the Boleyn is looking grimmer by the day.

Anyone who thinks 34 points will be enough for safety is quite frankly deluded. With QPR closing and Wigan and Villa pushing that safety mark increases.

Man Utd V Reading
Arsenal V Reading
Reading V Southampton WINNABLE
Reading V Liverpool WINNABLE
Norwich V Reading
Reading V QPR WINNABLE
Fulham V Reading WINNABLE
Reading V Man City
West Ham V Reading WINNABLE

There is now no margin for error and seeing the above shows the incredibly hard challenge ahead of us.

Mid Sussex Royal
Snowball If we lose the three home games to QPR-Wigan-Villa, one point per game overall may not be enough

We need to beat these sides.

We MIGHT get away with drawing, but home defeats will be very serious

I think QPR, Villa, Wigan and Saints are all capable of winning on our patch

Yes but we have only lost 3 out of 13 at home to Man U, Arsenal and Spurs. We are not easy to beat at home.
