Winston Biscuit can't decide whether to go somewhere like the Alsopp, which history tells me has a great atmosphere but is so rammed your chances of even getting served are slim, or somewhere nice and quiet elsewhere in London (went to some riverside bar near Borough Market for the West Ham away epic under Brian which was gr8)

most likely a car park near Wemblers I guess

I was struggling to understand why I had no recollection of struggling for service at the kirsty.
until I remembered I was drinking vodka from a coke bottle like some sort of tramp

Schards#2 Sports Bar & Grill Marylebone

Part of Marylebone Station, up market bar/restaurant, 20+ TV screens showing sport, 10 minutes on the overground to the stadium

Plus if they use the same hotel as last time you can wave the players off when they board the team coach

Be the torch again for me I think. Beers over the fence, nice and easy.

I'd hope so otherwise I've bought tickets in the wrong section!

As the Torch is my go-to pub before England games (though I didn't actually go there for my last England game) i'm glad we've got it rather than the Green Man. Green Man I always thought was the best pub for club games, and it was great, but The Torch had more of a wow factor, which is saying something given that I've been there numerous times and experienced some good pre-match atmospheres at times. Just a shame I only got to be there for half an hour for the Arsenal game.

The only advantage TGM has is that it has more space outside, but then it's further from the station (Wembley Park).

Saying all that, i'll probably get a drink in Victoria first.

I was at the Green Man pre Swansea and the queues were horrific. I picked up my ticket from my contact ( whom I shall not name) and skedaddled.

Really cannot understand why you'd want to go to the designated pubs when there are so many better, less crowded places in a 5- mile radius of the stadium, all connected by a 10-20 minute train/ tube ride.

Atmosphere I think. Being with hundreds of fellow supporters belting out a few songs may be better than sitting in a quiet pub by yourself or with a m8 5 miles away

I get your point though - guess it depends on what you're after.

I'm not going with a mahooosive group so I'd rather be in the thick of the action and will at some point end up in The Torch

Bobby said it better than me but it's for the atmosphere. Just don't get it anywhere else for me. Up until Swansea i'd wanted to be in a pub amongst Reading fans for years (since we went up in 2006) so it was great to be there even with the queues. Also, i'm thinking of meeting up with 1 or 2 people, if they're going, and that might be the best place to do so.

Thanks to the bloody bus replacement service think I actually spent more time in Victoria for Arsenal than at the Torch, so as said in my previous post it'll probably be a mix of both for me.

Does the Torch open at 11am, as the website states?

In addition to my post above, you do have a point about the queues. Used to always go straight to Wembley for food and drink, but that isn't the case these days, and one reason is that it's quicker to do that elsewhere.

So what station do the Huddersfield fans arrive in London? wouldn`t want Baker street packed out with both sets of fans.

If they go via Leeds they come into KingsX. tube via Baker Street is the obvious route to Wembley.
