double d Anybody can clearly see what it said. Only a blithering idiot won't understand it.

It means we are not in the relegation zone and 13 points from safety. Which means to the people with an IQ of single digits on here, we are not in 22nd, 23rd or 24th place and the team in 21st are 13 points ahead (ie safety). Jesus christ.

Also point 1 and 2 of your pointless post are the exact same thing......

What in the ever-loving Christ are you going on about?

I have no idea, where's the 13 points figure come from?

We are by no means in a relegation fight. This game is a nice addition that we can go out and play as the away side without pressure. Should be good - hopefully we can get through on the night.

Disagreed, 4 points off 22nd in January would say otherwise for me.

I just can't figure out where DD got 13 points from.

Does anyone know why this match is on a Friday night? Its not on telly (well not BT or BBC) so why move it to Friday night?

18 games left, 54 points to play for. We are not in a relegation fight.

Assume that since Sheffield Utd are also at home that Police asked for the games to be separate days and since there are midweek league fixtures next week both clubs preferred Friday to Sunday

Sheff Utd are indeed at home and while there are some people it is their turn to play at home on the Saturday (when both teams are drawn at home in a cup), neither of the teams involved in their tie had to play a replay so I would assume they got the preference, especially as they didn't have to wait until the outcome of the replays to start selling tickets.

Is that so?

I'm going by the Keep Calm and Carry On mantra. That got proper results.

it should be good. It probably won't be.

I think there is a lot of pressure on unfortunately. Another defeat and out of the cup is not going to do anyone at the club any good.

And +1 on the 'no idea what double d is on about'

I think the pressure is minimal. Although a Cup run would be good for the coffers, I don't think it's essential we win this, hence why hopefully the players can just go out and try to express themselves.
+2 For Double d dumbfuckery.

I think you'll find your view a minority one.

Afterall, a team that is in the relegation zone in December is clearly in a relegation battle, as the table is pretty settled by then, earlier even. Doesn't matter how many points are available.

Now, by all means a team can extract itself from a relegation battle before the season ends with a good run. That just means thry won the battle early and it was brief, not that they were never in one.

Right now there's every reason to believe we will continue to slide down closer and closer to relegation. This is based on our form, the form of the teams around us and the fact that a couple of strugglers usually pull themselves just clear. We're going the wrong way and we're certainly not treading water.

I don't totally agree with that but regardless - we haven't been in the relegation zone all season!

Get real. Tonight is the ideal break from a few poor league results to go to a side only one place above us in the league. There is 0 pressure and I'm fully expecting us to win the game.

Do you think Wednesday think they're in a relegation battle? Cos they're only 3 points ahead of us.

But crucially, they are 7 points clear of the relegation zone and have a 1 ppg recent form, which translates to 50 points at the end of the season and most probably safety.

We are a whole game (in points worth) closer than they are and our recent ppg is 0.3 which translates to 35 points come the end of the season and would be certain relegation.

By that logic, Wolves aren't in the title race.

Seems John S has his own definition of a relegation fight

But more to the point where's the prediction thread for this game?!

Optimistic, love a cup run.
Both teams have a point to prove, hoping both teams come out wanting to play a good game. Not too bothered about the outcome, more interested in our approach to the game and what kind of performance we put in. If we lose but have a pro longed period to how Stam wants to play, i'll be happy. If we lose playing the same turgid, slow, unimaginative game thats when the panic comes in. ITS THE FA CUP!!! Magic can happen.
We are in a relegation battle, but also have plenty of games to get us out of it, so atm its not panic stations but a more of a concern.
