Anyone Nervous?

by Royal_jimmy » 23 Apr 2018 17:59

For the pretty huge game on Saturday?

Tomorrow's game with Forest and Barnsley will be a nerve volume definer. If Forest get something then I will feel quite calm.

Not in slightest. Barnsley are not the issue, Bolton are, a win on Saturday or maybe even a draw and we are safe.

Not yet but if Barnsley win tomorrow night it starts getting a bit edgy.

Nope, I've endured so many "huge games" with Reading FC and the vast majority have ended is despair so absolutely no expectations.

Ironically I can't recall a worst Reading team in many years that I'd want to go into a big game and give their all for the shirt.

I don't think I'll be nervous until after the Ipswich game, if we go to Cardiff needing a result then I might start bricking it.

Gunny, I agree, and I was thinking the same the other day. There's really very few you can bank on.

Even Barrow hasn't really done a huge amount since Clement arrived. Of course, the pair of them have some history, so maybe it was to be expected(?). Assume he is still our 'player of the season', though.

He has won us 3 out of the 7 points we’ve earned under Clement...

They won 2 ‘must win’ games out of the last 3 at home

No guarantee it will happen again but we knew we had to win those home games and have done the job in 2 of them

Can see Reading drawing and Bolton v Burton ending in a draw thus keeping us up.

Can't really see us going down now, would take a pretty unlikely set of results. Not that nervous.

They say the table doesn’t lie but this one does. We deserve to go down and if we do I won’t be upset just angry at how badly the club has been run this season.

He did, if you look at it that way. Aluko did, too. And he is still trashed every week. So, maybe a rather narrow way of looking at it.

I guess my point was that Barrow...our player of the season...in terms of his overall play...hasn't exactly taken off and really thrived and flourished under Clement thus far.

And they knew each other, etc. Familiarity, which one would have thought, would be an advantage.

Maybe I was watching Barrow too closely, given their history. That's just my opinion, based on what I've seen on the field. Its all about opinions, and if you've seen different out there, that's fine.

Nervous of what? Next season isn't going to be easy whatever league we are in.

If we finish above 22nd we don't deserve to go down, drama queen.

How can you say we deserve to go down when there are at least 3 clubs who have categorically been worse than us all season?

As for OP, nope not really. I haven’t been nervous since the moment Stam was sacked. Been a surprisingly relaxing relegation “fight”.
