We need two wingers and Sims must play. No idea about the new guy's fitness so sub him in for Rinomhota if fit. Also want Gunter to stay in the team, he and Yiadom were the only people to emerge from today with any credit.

Either:

Mannone; Gunter, Ilori, Moore, Yiadom; Sims, Rinomhota, Swift, Barrow; Bodvarsson, Baldock
Subs: Walker, McIntyre, Richards, Bacuna, Kelly, Meite, McNulty

Or:

Mannone; Gunter, Ilori, Moore, Yiadom; Rinomhota, Kelly, Bacuna; Sims, Bodvarsson, Barrow
Subs: Walker, McIntyre, Richards, Swift, Frost, Meite, Baldock

Don't really think Meite is good enough and Blackett doesn't deserve to miss the bench but needed some balance. Keep Aluko, Meyler, and McShane away from the team.

Few weeks ago I said I didn't think any of our young players had a chance of breaking through and I don't even especially rate Rinomhota or Frost, but they'll show for the ball and won't be afraid to try things.

Does it even matter what combination of 11 players we put out?

It will be just as inept as the one before and the one after.

My team for PNE would be:

GK: Mannone
RB: Gunter
LB: Yiadom
CB: Moore
CB: McShane
RW: Sims
CM: Bacuna
CM: Ezatolahi
LW: Barrow
CF: Bodvarsson
CF: Baldock

Aluko would have a lot of work to do to earn his place back in my side. Swift is a great player but he needs the right midfield partners to get the best out of him. Maybe alongside Bacuna and Ezatolahi we would see the best of Swift. Swift needs a bulldog with him in the middle otherwise we are too lightweight. He was effective with two more defensive minded, rottweilers in Williams and Van Den Berg or Evans. But he cannot play with Kelly and Meyler.

Was going for 4-3-3 with Barrow and Sims wide

This pretty much. But Aluko must go

Noticed Danny Loader scored another brace in the U23s. Must be 6 or so he has already. I’d start to consider him

Richards has arguably been the biggest liability in our team thus far.

Only if you've forgotten the existance of old two penalties, Aluko, Meyler, Bacuna and Swift

Would give Bacuna the benefit of the doubt but otherwise totally agree, no way Richards has been a liability ?
Your team is worth a shout too...

Man, I'm in a state this morning and it's hard to look at that team on my phone... I thought I'd picked 12 players again because we're so poor everywhere. 3-5-2... that's ok isn't it. Dur.

Objective is to keep it tight, press from the front and give Barrow a free role to do damage where he wants. With 20 minutes to go change it up and play hard for the win. Can bring on Sims to go 4-2-4, Meite to just lump it up there, Swift to play through the middle, McNulty for fresh legs... Kelly if you want to slow the game down because we're miraculously winning...

Sorry I forgot saying anything against a former academy player is against your religion. You're just as big a part of the problem as the players. Supporters giving a free ride to our under performing and idle academy failures like Kelly and Richards after every shit show has made them completely complacent.

As much as I want Academy players breaking through, Richards should be out on loan. He’s not mentally there yet (not to play with this shower anyway)

Well that's a very bold statement to make about a 20 year old lad.

Richards is not a "failure", he's still very young and he has potential to be a good left back. He came in last season against Derby away and he was man of the match. His reward for that from his manager was to be taken out of the team for two months. When he came back the team were struggling and he was effected by that. Perhaps if he'd played in those two months he may have been able to develop more.

If Obita was fit Richards would be out on loan building on his first season, but because Jordan is still out we can't send Richards out on loan.

-------------------Walker----------------
Yiadom---Moore---Ilori---Gunter
--------Ezatolahi------Bacuna--------
Sims--------------Swift----------Barrow
---------------------Bod------------------
Subs:
Mannone
Blackett
O'Shea
Kelly
Clement
Loader
McNulty

I don't think I can stomach us having 2 strikers on the pitch wasting chances anymore. Bod has the better work rate and conversion rate. Play him and make the others work harder for it.

Get Aluko and Meyler out until they remember that they are supposed to be footballers. Sims can play until then and anyone but Edwards should be ahead of Meyler till he pulls his thumb out.

Swift ahead of Kelly because Swift is actually capable of free kicks and despite performing well below what he is capable of is much less of a disappointment than future England star Liam Kelly. In an advanced role with 2 Cms behind him he might actually be able to float in that transitional area we often leave totally empty without having to worry about the gap between defense and midfield.

Loader on the bench because he might actually be more capable than Baldock at hitting the target. Harsh I know but for all his rushing about Baldock has shown himself to be incapable of doing the one thing we need him to do. Score.
