Ukraine had a big showing in Marseille in 2016.

Actually, given that half of Iceland was in the city, it probably wasn't that noteworthy.

UPDATE

Apparently Ukraine fielded in ineligible player and the three points may go to Luxembourg (ditto for Ukraine's draw in Lisbon on Friday)

In what way ineligable? Should have been suspended?

no, the player is/was Brazilian (or Portuguese) and he has to live in a country five years before becoming eligible. This guy is a few months short of 5 years.

The dirty cheats, give us the points.

Cape Verde almost went to the world cup with 3-0 walkovers. Don't fight the system.

Enjoyed this stat from Italy's game last night. Fabio Quagliarella's second goal in Italy's 6-0 win over Liechenstein ended a run of 18 consecutive different goalscorers for the country, dating back nearly two years.

Quagliarella also became Italy's oldest ever goalscorer, at 36 years old.

Ticket applications now available via the UEFA website until the 12th July. 7 matches at Wembley to apply for which will probably have all 3 England group games.

Currently going through and selecting my games, will have more of a decent look over the weekend.

There was one in Budapest for €30 which is a bargain.

Glad to hear that, I'll try to attend it then; there are dirt cheap tickets to fly there, and the wife has been talking about visiting Central Europe for a while, so that's two birds with one stone

For Euro 2016 UEFA set up a resale portal for spare tickets etc. I got all my tickets through that.

No sign of that on their website. I'm hopeful they may make it possible at a later date

Rumoured that Tyrone Mings has made it into Southgate's squad for our Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo...

So we haven't lost a qualifying game for either the Euros or World Cup since 10th October 2009, when we went to Ukraine and lost 1-0 (we won all nine other games of that 2010 WC qualifying campaign). Last home defeat was that awful night in the rain, McClaren's umbrella, when we lost 3-2 at Wembley to Croatia and failed to qualify for Euro 2008.

So we're at 39 games unbeaten in qualifiers - and apparently some way short of the record. Italy went 56 qualifiers unbeaten over 11 years, from September 2006 until their 3-0 defeat to Spain in September 2017 (2018 WC qualifying).

Spain have a slightly ridiculous unbeaten record in World Cup qualifiers only, that extends 60 matches and nearly seven complete campaigns, back to 1993.

I kind of miss Spain being the butt of international football jokes

Are these qualifiers for the Euro 2020 football Championship or the Euro 2020 face stamping Championship?
