Wallsy There’s a disappointing lack of ITK’s regarding the kit this year. Paul doesn’t even seem to know anything.

I do, but can’t make it to obvious.

What I will say is don’t get to excited about the new shirt,

Macron come to conclusion you can’t do to much with a blue and white hoop shirt. What you can do is add a third colour to it, and stick it on the sleeves, hey presto new kit.

Training kits are not what you have been seeing either by the way.

Knew it. Those training tops didn't look the finished article.

Can you confirm if its a panelled back? And is it as nice as Deportivos?

A few ITK’s have said its boring now. I guess DLC’s is boring.

I reckon we’ve got a bit of yellow down the arms.

Not yellow. Think lucky, think China and you won’t be far wrong.

Oh, no. It is going to be red then. someone, stop us going towards the Swineden, please. Yellow is more approiate, in China it stands for ROYALTY and Power of the Throne, or even green which is the colour of Money and Wealth. Well, maybe not that last one then!
Will white be phased out completely as it is considered unlucky and the colour that they wear at funerals?

Surely any interest is really in the away kit anyway unless they do something massively radical

Otherwise it’s just a case of how nice the trim on the home kit is

White shorts, Paul?

And would the away kit have a very Chinese theme about it?

Yellow ?
You mean as in the colour of Oxford’s shirts ?
WE’ve had red in the home shirts many times recently, it’s hardly a break from tradition.

We’ve had red flashes on the home shirt in the recent years, so nothing new really

Premier League 2012 (horrendous)

FA Cup Semi Final 2015 (quite liked this)

I’m expecting something similar, with a red away kit and a white/black third kit too.

For me that looks class. Would prefer the sponsor on the hoop below though. But i assume these are just completely random no ITK knock ups?

That's funny. I love the 2012 one and hate the 2015 one.

Wallsy
Jagermesiter1871
Wallsy Delay in receiving the kit, i.e. modelling it etc is because of a balls up behind the scenes. Otherwise we’d have seen the kit on Monday as was planned.

Is there a balls up every year? Wouldn't surprise me tbf.

We usually see the kit by second week of July and it tends to go on sale for the home friendly.

There was a cockup this year which set us back a few weeks, hence the reveal will tie in with the kit going on sale shortly after this time.

What we do every year is frustrating for many, but each club can pay a specific tier for when the kits are produced by and released, so it costs a bit more to have it in June than July etc. Reading being Reading save some money every summer by leaving the release until the last week or two before the season starts. A small saving if you will.

This summer however it’s just be a royal f**k up.

Understanding how it works around paying for our kit to be supplied at a certain time, but nevertheless it's been the case at Reading no matter what our on-pitch situation, or our finances, or our kit supplier, or our owners, every summer we're one of the last clubs to reveal our new uniform.

Interesting that we try and save money by getting the kit later than everyone else.

Then spend money on publicity stunts like sending the kit into space*.

*Which resulted in one of my favourite comments of all time - "They're seeing how it works in a place with no atmosphere." :D

tbh it sounds like complete horseshit to me. I'm no expert, obvs, but don't these deals usually involve the manufacturer paying the club a lump sum then some agreement being struck on profit share for shirts sold directly by the club :?:

Why on earth would a club pay to get their stock earlier :?: If there was any evidence that this increased sales (and I can't imagine there is any) then it raises the question why your Lutons, your Cambridges, your Coventrys all seem quite happy to cover this surcharge when I don't imagine they're selling any more shirts than we are
