leon Movement. It’s all about movement.

Movement without purpose, is just movement. move to control the pass, gives movement purpose and means something to those coached in my experience.

word salad to make you feel more in control of things than you actually are

Just trying to figure out a probabilistic argument to Adams Hollywood passing style but obvs it's fooking complic8d

A much easier thing to model is something like the following in basketball

30 seconds left* and down by 3_points, is it better to:

- attempt a hard 3-point shot or an
- easy 2-point shot and get another possession?

What do you reckon?

*lasts about 5 mins with timeouts etc

Clearly by definition movement without purpose is pointless.

Ascotexgunner
Denver Royal 'Players not on same wavelength in 1st game of season' shocker.
He's only played 20-odd mins for us. Good thing we aren't too quick to judge.
.
Re. players we don't have, not really that shocking either. Gomes can't just print money. It's basically because we didn't sell anyone of note to generate the funds. Yet.

The club have plenty of money and want to spend it apparently. It was mentioned in the Gomez interview for BBCRB. The problem is the FA wouldn't confirm whether we are clear of FFP and are messing us around.

GOMES ffs not Gomez

Looks like two-point option is best after doing a bit of the old Monte Carlo on it

Take a quick two-points and then foul and hope they miss the free throws

Won't believe you until Nigel Atkins confirms that is how you spell it.

Something that's annoying me:

"Charlie Adam played well tonight'

Yes. He did. But he should be no where near the starting XI.

HE CANNOT CLOSE DOWN!!! He's a liability out of possession and it's not the 1980's any more.

At best he should come on in the 80th minute when were a goal down and that wand of a left foot might do something. But how the hell he started ahead of the improving Pele is beyond me.

Ranted in the match thread but his love of cross field hollywood passes also massively irritates me. They are good and look great but sometimes (often) the best pass is the simple one. Invariably slows down play and become far too predictable.

Can't criticise him too much as he probably was the best mid today but indeed that in itself is worrying and as said, liability defensively.

He has to Hollywood, because he can't carry the ball forward.

No matter how good his passing was, his total lack of mobility and pace are a complete liability as a starter.

Disagree with that, he just needs the right role - he needs to be a quarterback style midfielder as he can control the game without needing to be too mobile but that can only fit into that role with 5 at the back.

He played well last night - 4 key passes and lots of effective switching of the play and unlucky with one piledriver in the first half and wasn't dispossessed in the game - his pass success wasn't great but guess that follows with trying to play longer balls to effect the game. His set pieces were also pretty good, though ironic that we scored from his worst corner.

He can't start every game but last night showed he can do 90 mins and positively effect the game. My only negative really was when he tried to chip the keeper in the last seconds - I can kind of see why but there was a slide ball on that would have freed Joao so was the wrong call.
