Zip Once again we concede early through shocking defending, Once again we miss too many chances.Once again we fail to come back from behind.

We got lucky over the past two seasons. If we go down this season there can be no complaints.

Yep, feels a bit sunderlandish doesn't it

His contract is only to the end of the year isn’t it?. Doubt it’d be that expensive

John Madejski's Wallet Bring back McDermott

No problem with that so long as he was finally given the chance he was allegedly promised on his second return.

He will just be sacked again - he wasn't really very good and his double sacking shows that ?

What has he done since he left, sorry was sacked from RFC ?

Noooo - this is not the one you are looking for.

Do You See ?

Yep Hudders have made the change and seems to be working out for them

Record £££s spent, bottom 3 at second international break. I suspect his time is up.

Bet it isn’t. Can the club afford his dismissal?

Suspect he’ll see us through the next few games (all extremely difficult) so bottom 3 is likely to be assured for a little while yet I reckon. Next up is a rampant Preston and based on current form can’t see anything to suggest that it won’t be the standard dismal home performance we’ve all come to love these past two and bit seasons.

If the club are worried about affording his dismissal they sure as hell can't afford relegation. If they don't have faith in him to turn it around, there's only one decision to make.

Maybe they do have faith, but it's hard to see why from where we are.

I just want us to start marking players in the box and the runners coming in late

Marking space in the box is just crap

Stoke have stuck with Nathan Jones after an abysmal start, won today, could be the start of an upturn. I expect their fans were screaming for him to be sacked too.

It could. Or they might continue to win one in every ten with him like before

He wouldn't and he why would he want to give up travelling Europe staying in nice hotels whilst scouting for Arsenal to join Reading and have to put up with dickheads like this?,

Not saying I want Brian to come back (I’m in the Chris Hughton camp) but wouldn’t downhearted if he did return.

Gomes is running out of time. He must change. We must start games much more quickly. We must press and press hard from the very first minute. We must start marking up instead of this ridiculous zonal marking. We must move the ball forward far more quickly.

I will go to the Preston game out of loyalty but I really don’t want to go and watch the same shit yet again.

Snowflake Royal Wow. What an effort from Boye.

Matched by the save unfortunately

Yep, that was a fine shot, and then a fine save.
Hoping that Boye will now kick on from here.

This squad has the ability the break the cycle. If Gomes goes, next appointment is a big one.

It’s shaping up like Sunderland in the prem...and we all know how that ended up. Sooner or later we’re going down

Bar that random 2016/17 season, we've been circling the drain since 2015. Being a Reading fan has been a miserable affair for years...

I don't know, maybe we're paying the universe back for 2005/06.

NewCorkSeth Might sound silly here but I dont think we are going to start getting anything from games until our closing down tactics change.

Currently we have 1 player close down the ball while the others close down space. We need to either start having the other players close down the passing routes a la Pep or have 2 players close down the ball a la Jurgen. Currently we are half assing it and Rinomhota is the only player we have capable of: intercepting, passing, dribbling and holding it up.

At least that's my big takeaway from the first half. We allow teams so much space on the ball because half the team are busy marking the space thise players "could" move into. Fundamental flaw in Jose's defensive plan.

I'd assumed it was incompetence rather than deliberate, but that makes sense.

Would explain why Rino's been a shadow of himself from last season too. And why Pele still looks clueless.

We're absolutely in this game, and are a little unlucky not to be back even. But I see nothing better from Gomes.

Bet Swift comes straight back in for Pele or Rino.

I'm positive it is instructed. In fact in the second half they started closing down in pairs in midfield. Start the oxf*rd game like that Jose. Christ.

That’s the other thing wrong with it. Games are never started in the front foot, there is nothing but tepid slow plodding possession played while the opposition race about and press and force Reading into mistakes. Sir Steve and Brian would be spitting feathers over that sort of approach.

Yes I think so. We can’t keep fighting relegation and narrowly escape. We had a decade of being very strong at this level but that changed five years ago. Now we are perennial strugglers 16/17 not withstanding.
