One87One I’m still fully being C1871 but I get some back pain and can’t sit as then I can’t see, plus the atmosphere does lack more often than not. I’ll move my season ticket back to Y25 soon or even to the upper west.

Aren't you one of Sams cronies?

2 world wars, 1 world cup Ex-Southbank and East stand chantstarter here, generally disappointed by the new generation of chanters over the last 10 years or so but I have to say I like a certain chant, not sure what it is though. I'm sure you all know it, It starts (notes in brackets)...

der(A) der(A) der(G) der(F) OOOPH (or hoops?) der(A) der(A) de(A) der(G) der(F) OOOPH der(A) der(A) der(A) der(F) deeeeeeeeeeeer(G)....

Great rhythm and build up and punch to it, really rocks the stadium when we sing it. Good work guys. (probably nicked off another team I imagine though... )

Someone fill me in please.

not sure it's quite sung on those notes, perhaps it's a little flat at times, but I think you are referring to the "hoof" chant. My understanding is that it is in reference to old criticisms that we would just"hoof" the ball upfront. Not 100% sure tho

Thanks. What are the lyrics to the hoof chant then?

I’m a musician so unlikely will have melody wrong but it’s possible I’m not remembering it correctly.

I think at some point I remember it being sung when Meite did something , not sure if he has a chant like that.

Well the notes you are using definitely refer to the Meite chant (in F major if anyone cares - chords F and C7 only)

A A G F
We've got Mei-te

A A G F
Ya - kou Mei-te

F A A A G F A G
I just don't think you un-der-stand (never known if these are quite the right words)

G G G F E
He signed on a free

G G F E
From P S G

G G A A G F
We've got Ya -kou Mei-te.

Or something like that. Words are, I think pretty interchangeable depending where you sit

Hoofs in that one, less sure!

That’s the one, thanks!!!!

Great chant fantastic positive energy to it really lifts the crowd. I say so as years experience of starting chants and also as someone who’s currently a lay person just hearing cluelessly from other stands. Sounds great. Keep it up boys!!!

Is it not "signed on a free from PSG"?

Either way, I'm buzzing for today ,C1871. I've brought a bag full of snakes and will be launching them at the touchline all game.

They'll be confiscated. You'll just have to throw low fat yoghurt and Hummus at the pitch like the rest of C1871.

Well done everyone. Sagged in the middle a bit but kept at it all game and the end was really worth it.

Obvious the players noticed and appreciated it too.

It's different stands. Four in the fanzone area in East. There are a couple each outside South Stand and ED. Don't think there's anything in West?
