Interesting one from the Copa del Rey final.

Not sure how I feel about it, if it was a Reading player - you probably say its great and if it happened against you - you would probably be pretty aggrieved.

Personally don’t see the debate here, surely he had to do that?

He did, but with only 5 minutes to go in extra time, I don’t think the advantage of having 1 extra player could play out to Athletico’s favour that much. Yes, the player could’ve missed the 1-on-1 but I would just feel a bit aggrieved if that had happened against Reading, in a playoff final, for example.

I know they’re two different sports and I don’t like being rugby into a football conversation but if that had been in a rugby game, Real Madrid would’ve been awarded a penalty try.

Not sure they would have been - as the exact equivalent would be him being tripped (not tackled) but having say the full back covering who is well placed to tackle him - so no guarantee a try would have been scored.

The Real defender would have felt he had no choice but to do it and it is probably one of the last grey areas in the sport where in very specific circumstance the offending team benefits - if he had done that 15 mins earlier then I doubt we would even be having this conversation.

La Liga TV UK launches this weekend somewhere on Sky. Its pay per view but for the first weekend (or 2?) Its free

Also dont forget FreeSports on Sky which shows some decent games sometimes. Usually Portuguese but this weekend they are showing La Liga and Serie A

Lazio have won 10 (TEN) league games in a row and are right up there in the mix. I dont like their hateful right wing nazi like ways but you have to admire that kind of run.

There is at least one game that is only available to view for free if you're in Ireland.

I haven't really looked into it much but my initial impression of LLTVUK is that it sounds sh*te

Lazio win their 11th match in a row. 1 point off 2nd place and 3 points off top spot now. Immobile has 22 goals in 19 matches.

Inzaghi performing miracles there

Sorry being a bit of a div (as usual etc). Madrid Sevilla isn't on in Britain because of the no televised games between 3.00 and 5.00 rules.

Haaland comes on as a sub for Dorrmund to make his debut, 3 minutes later with his first touch he scores, 10 minutes later he puts them 4-3 up.

Not over yet.

He's ridiculous, isn't he? 31 in 23 games now this season, with a goal every 48 minutes. I'd like to see Norway make it through the Euro 2020 play-offs just to see him at the tournament.

he is an absolute monster

if it is true that he has a €60M buy out clause in his contract (kicking in from June 2021 i think) then he is going to have his pick of clubs too

Dortmund still turn a €40m profit on that though.

They do indeed (minus wages and any extra's). My point was that €60M is nothing to the worlds top clubs, so if he still looks this good in 18 months time then he can pretty much choose who he wants to play for
