Why is Stuart Gray upfront? Who is A Smith? I genuinely don't remember Andrew Taylor playing for us, and it was only 4 years ago

Alex Smith. Free from Port Vale in the early 2000's. I think he actually player in the season we went up. Started the season in the team and even got an assist from a corner on his debut at Blackpool but disappeared after about 2 months, never to be seen again. Bit harsh to pick Steve Brown. He was excellent but got crocked.

No Ben Smith or was he pre Madejski? I saw his debut at Maine Rd. We were 2-0 up, he came in as a second half substitute and we lost 3-2. Had a half decent career at Yeovil IIRC.

I was there for Ben Smith's debut, too. Just looked Alex Smith up, his face looks vaguely familiar, but I'm still struggling.

Michael Dobson was only half a game, Ben Smith I think pre Madstad, Stuart Gray is in midfield, Matty Robinson is harsh, yes, how about S Kelly instead?

Also, not a common name (at least not round these parts) and his contribution can easily be recalled - 2 away goals at the Britannia Stadium.

as was Neil Smudge Smith, his professional career all but ended from injury by one of our own during a goal celebration at the Madstad

Part of our promotion squad too.

Rooster was a decent part of our upwards trajectory too.

Two poor choices there Fox tbf

Good thread tho’

Charlton, yes.

I always quite liked Steve Brown, he had a penchant for diving clearing headers about waist height

This thread should have been people posting photos of past non-descript players and seeing who could name them.

Didn’t settle. Played a few games, then disappeared and was sold back to Chester or sold to Shrewsbury the following summer.
