Franchise FC
Stranded Crazily, going by that thread, they haven't breached FFP.

I know I'm late to the party here, but how do you figure that ?

Isn't the limit £40m over 3 years ?
If so Villa have breached that in one year alone, almost breached in a second and it doesn't even show the third.
Their two year value is over £100m

If they had to add back the stadium sale they're over £150m for just two years

There is a lot of costs that you can write off against FFP, academy costs for example. They needed the sale of the stadium to be compliant, but once all non FFP losses are removed they do appear to be OK. It is all on the Swiss Ramble thread above, he is normally pretty good when it comes to the financial side of football so seems legit enough

Think all Championship clubs are in the process of arranging that . Brum just the first. Players will be paid back the extra once football resumes as their salaries are protected I believe.

That isn't a pay-cut then.

Interesting to see how this develops. Given the financial strife many are in I can't see there being too much sympathy for the millionaires we pay hundreds a year to watch kick a ball around, but we'll see.

The clubs with a massive player wages to income ratio's are going to be in financial dire straits because of the shut down; sadly, that puts us right in the firing line, as our wages to income ratio is (according to the Financial analyst, Swiss Ramble) 197%...................

It’s really disappointing to see that playing staff are being asked to ‘defer’ their pay, but non-playing staff furloughed with a 20% cut in income, never to be seen again.

Presumably linked to the general age old inability to piss about with players' contracts

What chance a relaxation of the FFP regulations regarding owner investment for this financial period to cover running costs?

Almost certainly a given

My wife works for a Championship club and I've long been aghast at the total separation of the club's finances between playing and non-playing considerations. The model is bizarre.

If you missed the state of our accounts from 2018/19, head over to Policies. Seems we've smashed another unwanted record.

The Transfer window (if there is one) will be interesting. The likes of Spurs were asking 150mill for Kane......no club will have that cash floating around now.
Will be interesting to see what money is paid and if the transfer prices plummet which in reality they should.

Will Kane be fit too?

How long before any player can justify that sort of fee again.

Nottingham Forest may well have a few problems to sort out after the troubles at Olympiacos

Macclesfield given a further 7 point deduction for failing to pay players wages in December and postponing a game with Crewe. They’ve now slipped down to 23rd in the League 2 table 3 points ahead of Stevenage who themselves were acquitted of illegally postponing a game in January.
