Money I suspect. Lower leagues are struggling financially. Managers are having to make do or find bargains.

From what I heard our offer was q cut on his previous contract, which seemed pretty ridiculous given his 1st team breakthrough.

But maybe the blunt reality is that is what he was worth in a Covid world and he's discovering that now

He is from what I gather very religious.I doubt attitude is a problem.Last January he was offered £750 a week, which was not enough to pay his mortgage. When he was a regular post lockdown, the revised offer was his original salary of £1200 a week, say £60k a year.Maybe he has just had enough;will get a job and boost his income with the semi pros. However below the Prem post Covid ,I suspect every club is struggling.

Wonder what skills he has that will secure a job outside football paying more than £39K per year. Also, surely the idea of boosting that income with semi-pros is a complete non-starter in the current economic climate, as I think you intimate at the end of your post.

Criminal he has got a club. Can't remember the game last season when Tom Mac and him were the two centre halves and played like seasoned pros.... I thought: "There's the future of RFC....."

Sounds like he's been very poorly advised by his agent based on pre-Covid greed. Just needs to get a club at a decent level and play regularly (and, no doubt, he will shine.)

Why haven't Swindon knocked on his door yet? He's a free agent, local AND good.

OR Oxford for same reasons plus they sold their other ex-Reading centre half to QPR, so must be a man down... almost like for like.

Osho is a bit of an odd one, wasn't the best timing to turn down a deal

Don't imagine him or Gunter would be able to just walk straight back into a first team game anyway, even if we wanted them to

Well, we do appear to have a crisis at RB

I always think of this guy when I hear the name Osho.

For that reason alone we should've never let him go.

Gunter has a lot of experience at this level and I'm surprised he hasn't been snapped up.

Osho was unlikely a get a offer at a Championship club and was maybe willing to take a step back to L1 for his long term career. Unfortunately the salary cap was introduced about a week after he rejected us. But even allowing for that bad luck L1 & L2 clubs were never going to be in a position to sign many players this summer, particularly relatively unproven youngsters. I feel he was badly advised to reject the offer, and it's a shame as he could have had a great opportunity this season with Yiadom's injury.

Eddie is saying we have offered him another contract to come back to cover RB with Yiadom out medium term and Aruruna injured makes sense

Massive step backwards imo. We need a specialist RB, not another CB who's filled in there a couple of time.

Massive may be a bit of an exaggeration. Sorry, I'm just tired. Still don't particularly want him back.

Anybody got a gif of the Simpsons episode when Homer quits and the reapplies for his job, and has to crawl through the tunnel, at which point Mr. Burns quips "Come crawling back, eh?".

I feel that would be appropriate here.

Tom Holmes did.....

Fair enough.

I didn't know Osho was a CB in academy.

I honestly don't know who played where, all I know is Osho as a full back was impressive. Even ran up the wing non-stop and chucked several great crosses in. If he was being used as a CB, massive  from me, CBs can't do that!

If Holmes is more specialised in that position makes sense.

I played RB for ONE game for my team at uni, thinking it'd be easy as a right winger. I was so confused and lost I ended up being swapped back to right wing. It's not as easy as it looks if you're not used to it that's for sure!

I never saw Osho play anywhere but CB in academy games but he may have switched around a bit.
Tom Holmes was a midfielder in the younger age groups but played right back sometimes in the U23 before becoming a centre back.
You really can’t judge Osho’s abilityon the couple of games. I can’t recall who was playing on the left for the opposition, huge difference if he had licence to push up because they didn’t have decent pacy wingers !
I can see logic in bringing Osho back short term. He knows the players and the way we play, we know him. He may come back and make the position his own but I don’t think it is risk free and woukdrather we gotta more experienced specialist.

Ng would be ideal.

Holmes as back up. Move Yiadom on at the end of the season. His number of injuries are starting to become a real problem.

Do wonder if he has an underlying issue with that knee

Ng sounds good but if that isn’t on the cards I’m ok with osho coming back

Fine with Osho coming back, saw great potential in him and can play both CB and RB which is a bonus.

Osho coming back would be underwhelming but I think many were disappointed he had left the club last summer. Give him a contract until January with the option for until the end of the season and I don’t think we’ve done badly here.
