Injury watch 2020/21

by mumbo-jumbo » 28 Sep 2020 12:42

Easier to post updates here? I've lost touch and hope in recent seasons, but starting to sit up and take notice again. Just the worst type of person

So we have:

Swift (Hamstring) - out until Christmas
Joao (dislocated shoulder) 2-3 weeks? Has he had this before
Araruna (knee)

Any others? Updates invited from all comers

I kinda hope we don't risk Joao. It's one game and he's really important to the season.

It would just seem unnecessary.

If he’s fit enough to play, he should play, that’s his job.

But, obviously, your opinion would be the correct opinion.

I'd agree with that, to an extent.

I mentioned that on another thread, that if it was a hammy or something like that, then yes, I would 100% not risk him for this one game.

However I think with an injury like this, you would be able to get away with playing at 80% fitness, that or he would be on the bench.

Let’s hope that’s nothing much otherwise it looks like we might be heading back to the days of Stam and Clement where the club continually had at least 3 or 4 first teamers out for each game.

Does seem to be a bit of a correlation between passing focused managers and high injury rates.

Remember when Rodgers sacked off half the fitness training to focus on skills and was amazed to discover the players were blowing out their arse after about 30 minutes?

Thank you. Shame no pictures of the players, though.

Good news about Joao. Less so Araruna and Yiadom

Swift, I wouldn’t be too bothered if he was out all season

Injury Update:

•The inclusion of Lucas Joao will be made 'at the last minute'.
Joao has been training over the past two weeks and we’ll assess him day by day to see if he’s ready for Saturday.

•Andy Yiadom, John Swift and Felipe Araruna are all still out for some time.

Baldock picked a calf injury in training before Boro. Looks like he'll be out until the next international break, according to Paunovic
