paultheroyal Hope the link works - it made me laugh - gives you an idea of the new ground too.

paultheroyal I have found the answer to my own question lol. It is basically 30% of ground capacity. So in Basingstoke's case will be 400 this weekend.

Almost. It's 30% of the minimum capacity required by the ground grading rules for the league in question.
see Appendix C in this doc (we are in stage 2 now)
file:///C:/Users/Mark/Downloads/national-league-system-club-guidance-covid-19-return-to-football-24-september.pdf

Basingstoke are at Step 4. The minimum capacity for grounds at step 4 is 1,350, which x 30% = 405, which has been rounded down to 400.

So a step 4 club with a ground with a capacity of 13,500 and would still only be allowed 400 fans through the door.

Daft, but fair, I suppose in that all clubs have the same cap.

Agree with that, not even the “glamour” of someone at step 2, or someone from an entirely different league set up, just a trip to north London to play about as good as you can currently get in the Isthmian Premier (Haringey are currently equal top with 3 other sides) - still at least fans can go I suppose. Mind you I suspect Bracknell will raise their game being the ones with nothing to lose and they’ve had a bit of penalty practice!

Lost 5-1.

Wonder if there was an impact from OMA’s bad news going down at Bracknell?

Any update on that?

Won't be back at the club til Thursday, will do some digging.

.

I appreciate it may be difficult / private / hearsay still but any update on this OMA?

Tony Le Mesmer Reading City v Ardley on Saturday OFF due to Covid issues in one team, not sure which one.

...positive test among the City squad; after their game at RWBT on Saturday - hence this Tuesday's Cup tie at Long Crendon was scrubbed mid-PM; as was the forthcoming league game vs Ardley this Sat.

Flackwell v Westfields in the same section is also off at the w/e (COVID in the visitors squad) ... as is the hastily re-arranged fixture between the Heathens and Ardley - that's now been put back to Tue 27th (19:30 KO)

..here's a brief round-up of matches played this midweek....

Review W/C Monday 19th Oct

Tuesday 20th Oct
01 NAT
Wealdstone 3-2 Chesterfield - 'Stones' up to 9th

04 IL1-SC
Bedfont Sports 2-1 Chalfont St Peter
Chertsey Town
0-3 Marlow att 378
Hanwell Town 1-1 Northwood
Westfield 1-3 Hertford Town
- leaders Waltham Abbey drop their first points held 1-1 -by Chipstead on Tue
- Bracknell sit 2nd ahead on GD of Hanwell and two unlikely pace-setters: Ashford and Staines.

03 SLP-C
Nuneaton Borough 6-2 St Ives - att 305 also notable for the five goals scored by home forward Shamsi
04 SL1-C
North Leigh 2-2 St Neots Town att 150 – Nor Lye levelled on 91’
04 SL1-S
Frome Town 5-0 Highworth Town att 298
Winchester City 3-2 Bristol Manor Farm att178 - Winch in 4th AFC Totton go top after a 3-1 win at Larkhall on Wed night :Basingstoke are 2nd; Ciren T 3rd.

05 CCLP
Ascot United 3-1 CB Hounslow United
05 HELLP
Virginia Water 2-2 Burnham a point sees ‘Blues’ claw their way off the bottom
[Wed] 06 HELL1E Thame Rangers 6-0 Woodley UnitedRangers still in last place on GD, behind Woodley who have three games in hand.

05 WESSP
Alresford Town 0-3 Horndean
Fleet Town 2-2 Hamble Club
- att 160 - Was at this – ebbed/flowed nicely and probably a fair result – Fleet looked good going forward but were a bit lightweight in defensive midfield.
- Club working hard on the T&T front – entrance thru clubhouse – table service only. Food bar functioning though – stand looked quite full within the distancing measures.

NOTE - There is a meeting late this PM (Thu 22nd) of the STEP05 & 06 League Chairmen - not sure there's anything too significant on the surface but there's a lot of twitchiness around.
- specifically based upon the simple fact that no Agenda has been published/made publicly known - which is unusual.
They do meet routinely - but with the current situation some people are expecting the worst.
Presumably they will be discussing High-Tier zones - e.g. in the NW & NE - several leagues are shifting into semi-suspension already. :?
...more when I know it.......

Yes- all part of the Thame football partnership

...and the big win was very unlikely to have been 'selection' shennanigans', involving any Thame Utd 'Firsts'; as has occasionally been alleged about other 'Reserve'/Dev' sides suddenly getting an upswing in form. The respective clubs are more of an affinity than a partnership.

So 'Rangers' are semi-independent of 'United' - indeed United's Reserves have their own set-up in Hellenic TWO North
- Rangers vs Reserves even met in the League's Floodlit competition earlier this month. I believe the former grew out of the ex-Oxford Senior League side Oakley who were regular winners of the Slough Senior Cup.

No info as yet emerged from this 'mystery' gathering of STEP05/06 League Chairmen - can't remember which clubs' Twitter site I encountered it on now and the NLM hasn't picked up on the story that I have seen.

Royals and Racers 4th qualifying round draw

The South

13 Maidenhead United v Cray Valley (PM)

Magpies up against possibly the most obvious Giant-Killing act based upon their results so far in the competition.

..ahem! 8)

...don't say you weren't warned..... :D

..tough luck on Hartley though .... only going down 0-1 at the Daggers.
