Pepe the Horseman
John Smith Is this not on Sky Red Button? Anyone know why?

Only 7.45 and 8pm kos are on the red button. Not sure why.

I think its to do with clubs maximising on line income which they lose when games are on the red button...I think Millwall after the break has been switched to 7pm too.

Rafael

Esteves
Morrison
McIntyre
Richards

Rinomhota
Laurent

Meite
Joao
Ejaria

Puscas

Southwood Gibson Watson Bristow Semedo Aluko Olise

Olise looked leggy on Friday and with two games in quick succession (Wednesday evening - early Saturday afternoon) doubt he’ll be able to play both

Not sure if Joao playing there would work, but I think Semedo does better playing against teams on the counter, envisage Preston sitting quite deep. Possibly Aluko in the hole if Pauno doesn’t think Joao would work there

As an aside, for those who were comparing our start to 05/06, our first away loss that season was on telly on a Friday night where we lost 3-2 and scored a last minute consolation. That game was followed by Preston (H) too

Hard pass on starting one of the best strikers in the league who happens to be in top form as an attacking mid regardless of how well he could potentially play there.

Guess it’s designed to be more of a 4-4-2 but with Joao playing off Puscas, think they can work well together

Just wary of burning players out. Olise was poor and leggy on Friday, don’t think it’s Semedo’s type of game and Aluko didn’t take his chance on Friday. Obviously the 4-2-3-1 has worked to great effect so far but it’s good to keep our options open

NewCorkSeth Oh yeah good point. I dont think Ovie is great off the bench but Semedos aerial ability is very important to our distribution. Tough choice.

I notice Semedo is getting assists already, 2 assists in 3.5 games

The usual line from Pauno et al is the next game is always the most important game of the season, but this genuinely is imho, a win and we are back on track with another (tough but) winnable home game vs Stoke on Saturday ahead of a very difficult run of games (fortunately basically all on Sky!).

Thoughts -
- As everyone says, the reaction after the first defeat is so important, a win and we are back on track, a defeat and everyone starts questioning the start we have - were we riding our luck etc etc. Seen a few pundits predict a PNE win already, time to prove the doubters wrong
- PNE away from home are very very tough, I'm hoping they come out and attack us - as that will play to our strengths and I'm sure the reason Cov did us on Friday is because Robins did his homework and was happy for us to have the ball and sucker punch us - which we have been doing to teams all season
- Moore being out (if he is) is a big blow after the start he has had, will the defence cope? I don't think the lad Gibson from Everton was the managers signing as was already lined up by Bowen - if McIntyre starts tomorrow I think that confirms it further
- Does Pauno stick to the same system or start Puscas up top with Joao? Could throw PNE if we start with a two.
- Will Ejaria return from his 'injury'
- Let's hope Meite is back

Up the Royals.

Have to say this is about as bare bones as you can get, going to be as difficult as it can be to get a win tonight.

Don’t like keeper captains either, why hasn’t Morrison got the job?

Don’t like our chances based on this team. Big improvement needed from all of them to get something out of the game.

Sorry dude. I know you think I am picking on you, but NOT a big improvement needed from them all. Their IMPROVEMENT has been fantastic under new management.

What we need tonight is for those playing to be at their game. Your wording, and negativity as usual, is poor.

Don't bother replying, as I have you "blocked" due to your insane negativity.

Back to the days of long term, minor injuries keeping half our squad out.

How long is that for Meite and Ejaria now, after what were initially very minor injuries? Seems to be an issue we've had since the Stam days. Are our fitness & medical teams just not very good?

Nah I’m good.

You are a hell of a negative nancy given we're completely unexpectedly clear at the top of the league after a fantastic start.

And I don't just mean the joke predictions. You've grumped your arse off in pretty much every match thread I've seen you contribute to during a game.

I wish that kuntstick Scott Sinclair wasn’t playing for them. Nailed on to score against us, as sure as night follows day.
