AthleticoSpizz Maybe it was just me?

Maybe I was misjudging the circumstances and situation?

but :|

Four (obviously) RFC academy/youth/u23s....or whatever they are referred to these days...in Morrisons this afternoon...aping around a bit, very loud, and not wearing facemasks (we assume that they are immune and/or excused because of their profession?).

@ a little bit disappointed

Not that you'd want to be a snitch, but it might be worth dropping an email to the club, saying to remind the academy lads they are representing the club when out and about in their kit - at the very least they shouldn't be breaking the law. And no, there is zilch in the regulations that implies that footballers don't have to wear masks when they are out in public. If they had the kind of health conditions that excused them, they wouldn't be able to play football.

No names...no pack drill

...but simple events like this are why we will won’t regain the terraces and bars anytime soon

What's the name of the Olympic champion cyclist with asthma... hasn't she had a collapsed lung?

Not sure anxiety or agoraphobia preclude successful football careers.

Obvs think it's unlikely that's the case here. And second the quiet email to the club about being good ambassadors.

The players all have numbers on their training gear and coats so you could probably have been very specific on who was involved...
However I have seen people wearing official, numbered club kit who were clearly not players (unless middle aged street beggars are featuring for the Academy these days ). I assume the club have donatedold kit to charities at some point, although doesanyone know what Paul Clement and Mark Bowen are doing currently ?

Palace 1 Royals 0 7 mins
2-0 27mins
H-T 2-0
I`m watching - it`s the 1st U 23 game at the new refurbished Palace Academy training complex- main pitch is superb- cost 1 million.
2 bad goals to give away, whereas the Royals have had plenty of the ball and should have scored at least one. Lawless gone off injured.
3-0 69 mins
4-0 85 mins
Samuels had to go off with possibly a serious injury.
5-0 89 mins
6-0 90 mins
F-T 6-0 funny result because Reading had plenty of the ball but missed chances whereas Palace scored most of theirs. The commentators- Mark Bright was co-commentator were very complementary towards Reading about the way we played and the fitness shown.

Over a week since this match was played and no report by Reading FC on the match at all- Is that a surprise ? Not really as there was no mention pre match, during and now after, on social media or the website. We know nothing about how bad the injuries are to Lawless and Samuels are. If i was involved with the Academy i would be well pi$$ed off at the coverage given to it by the club !!!
The only Academy news published was last Tuesday(the day after this Palace match) when they reported 4 players had been called up for England U 18 and U 19 training, including Samuels which they later changed to 3 taking out Samuels.
We have had 3 matches streamed by the opposition this season- Leeds, Stoke and Palace and not once have Reading informed the fans how to watch them.
I had hoped that things would change as my complaints last season were acknowledged by the Media team but nothing has changed !!!
When the U23`s have played at the Madjeski stadium, decent crowds of over a 1000 have turned up so there is interest in the academy from the fans.

Strange isn't it?
It's not as if it requires much effort to let people know how to watch the live streams.
