Simmops Let's go through the clubs who haven't recovered in any league, this is from premier or championship, pretty insane the list but tell me if I messed. Heck of a lot of oxf*rd up clubs here:

Hull
Pompey
Charlton
Sunderland
Blackpool
Ipswich
Afc Wimbledon (?)
Burton (barely)
Blackpool
Wigan
Bolton
Bradford
Torquay
Yeovil
Barnet
Stockport

Oldham (going back a bit)

Reckon Brizzle might be looking for a new manager if we beat them tomorrow.

Bristol fans want Eddie Howe but Eddie is strongly linked with taking over from Neil Lennon at Celtic in the summer.

Bet365 have the following odds...

Paul Cook 5/4
Alex Neil 6/1
Eddie Howe 7/1
Danny Cowley 10/1
Michael Appleton 10/1
Nigel Pearson 11/1

Bristol fans are fcuking deluded then.

Paul Cook would be a sensible choice.

Karanka 1/2 games from the sack you’ve got to think, home form has been abysmal

Also got to feel Corberan isn’t far off at Huddersfield, given the position the club were in when they sacked Cowley isn’t too far off what they’re on now

The Bristol City owner is extremely wealthy and , subject to FFP, he could afford to spend big on a new manager and a city the size of Bristol probably should have a Premier League club.
They have had time at the top level but not much and it will be interesting to see who they get in to deal with what no doubt will be referred to as a "project".

Pleased for him because he seems genuinely a nice guy, but he hasn't exactly got a great track record in management

The first time he says "Can't you do it like I did ?" ...

Bristol as a City with 2 clubs has not been good for top flight football.

Bristol City have just 9 top flight seasons (1906 to 1911 and 1976 to 1980) and the highest position achieved by the club was 2nd in 1906/07. For all but 2 seasons in division 4 (1982 to 1984) the rest of the time the club have yo-yo’d between divisions 2 and 3.

Bristol Rovers have avoided it altogether, their highest position was 6th twice in division 2 in the 1950s and have spent 19 seasons in division 2 and 10 in division 4 while the remaining 64 seasons (bar 1 season in the NL) have been in division 3.

The owner seems much more a rugby man, he’s transformed a very mediocre second tier side into a genuine force in a relatively short time. Got a very good manager in and recruited shrewdly. He’s been trying to turn the football club around for a longish time with pretty much zero success, never got the right manager and recruitment has be3n poor. Odd difference, I guess rugby is a smaller world ?
