I'd hope that Pauno finds a way of incorporating Puscas. Joao had a Blackman season in terms of scoring, when you look back at his Sheffield Wednesday record. Better long term prospect. Needs a decent run in the team with service that he can feed off.

Joao had a good scoring record last season and scored loads this.

Blackman had a good two months once in his career. There's just no comparison.

Joao's record at Sheffield Wednesday was 26 goals in 112 appearances. Like Blackman purple patch at Reading.

1 in 4 isn’t bad at all and he was sub a very large number of those I imagine

And over 60 of those appearances at Wednesday were from the bench.

Why I always look at minutes per goal

EDIT

For Wednesday

6,573 Minutes
29 Goals
13 Assists

A goal ever 226.6 minutes = or a goal every 2.5 games
A goal or assist every 156.5 minutes

A goal every two games is usually considered top striking, and it should be remembered this was in an under-performing side. How might he have done playing for Norwich, Watford, Bournemouth or WBA, Fulham when they went up?

His Reading Stats are:

4,348 Minutes
28 Goals -----------------------155 Minutes per Goal
11 Assists --------------------- 111 Minutes per Goal or Assist

COMBINED RDG-Wednesday

10,921 Minutes
57 Goals at a goal every 192 Minutes
24Assists

A goal or assist every 135 Minutes

Shane Long v Joao (Reading Only)

LONG

11,059 Minutes
54 Goals - - - 28 Assists
205 Mins/Goal
135 Mins per Goal/Assist

JOAO

4,348 Minutes

28 Goals - - - 11 Assists

155 Mins/Goal
111 Mins per Goal/Assist JOAO

In Shane's last full season (his best) he started 52 times for 4,413 Minutes and scored 21+2=2 Goals

Compare Long's Best Season to JOAO at Reading

4,413 Minutes 25 Goals, 14 Assists, 39 G/A - - - - - LONG
4,348 Minutes 28 Goals, 11 Assists, 39 G/A - - - - - JOAO

This fascinates me, frankly. Long was sought-after and we lost him to The Prem...

ITK Eddie's latest Twitter post;

https://mobile.twitter.com/EddieRFC7/st ... 8535431178

Paunovic’s fate remains uncertain, but he is planning to be the manager next season.

#ReadingFC’s initial contract offer to Tmac was very underwhelming, mainly due to restricted spending, but I’m sure Tom is desperate to stay and we will come up with a better offer at some point.

Not the most positive of updates...

Can the Nevers to West Ham situation be tied back to FFP and constraints on terms we could offer? Or is it shit decision making? Next season really could have been an opportunity for him here.

Well according to the club statement we automatically triggered a year extension so it seems we just agreed a fee with West Ham.

I'll admit to not reading fully. Maybe that's just the position we're in, but can't have imagined it was more than the £250k mark

I think Eddie’s missed the mark on McIntyre.

I understand he’s been given the assurances on playing time that he wants.

The club have made a respectable offer. McIntyre is holding out for slightly more. The two parties are very close and an agreement is likely.

Am I the only person who thinks the report of the contract extension trigger on the Nevers deal makes no sense?

I know there's a lot more happening behind the scenes that we're not aware of, but the timeline is weird. Does this mean we might have got a half decent fee for him after all?

is a little strange him going whilst still under contract with us - but yes good that it should mean a fee of some sort

Yes, it means West Ham had to agree terms with us before they could speak to Nevers, should mean we got significantly more than what we would have got in the case of compensation.

Hopefully a big sell on is included, he has the potential providing he stays injury free.

Yeh, especially as they originally said he had been offered new terms. If it was as simple as just triggering it, then why not do that?

This is very good news.

I would imagine Nevers was aware of West Ham interest and the likely wage hike that would bring with it - as he is unlikely to be anywhere near their first team in the next couple of seasons. He will have made it clear he wanted to go but the club offered a new longer term deal, when he turned that down, we took the option of another 12 months to make West Ham pay a fee higher than the compensation we would have otherwise got.

It’s a bit odd that Richards has still to be confirmed as having signed for Bayern.

Possibly, but I think the window doesn't officially open/his contract doesn't officially run out until June 1st, so might be waiting until then.

But on the other hand, they have announced Upamecano already...

Different for OOC players? Although not sure if Upamecano is? Who knows?!
