It would be an unusual approach to have one senior striker, a loanee at that, and consider striker not to be a priority to make a signing.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:From what Noel said in the press conference earlier it sounds like a centre back and wide player are his priorities so this may be off, if it was even even on....

Good points.Crowbar6753 wrote:I think we are nearly there, i understand Noel wanting cover however, we have to be careful not to block the opportunity of our youngsters getting games especially the stronger youngsters such as Garcia, Osho, Sackey and Stickland especially putting loanee's ahead of these guys just for the sake of it.
I think Garcia should be loaned out somewhere to give him more game time and to increase his potential. I really liked the look of Osho during pre-season and think he has the ability for some cameo roles throughout the season.
I would honestly be happy with two more Strikers, one with experience and one for additional cover incase of injuries.
If this happens its then about getting the squad to play the way Noel wants them to and gelling the players into a team that knows each others strengths and weaknesses.

Maybe we didn't really want him.windermereROYAL wrote:When they choose Port Vale over us you have to think he prefers life up north.

If we were ever actually in from him is one thing, but he grew up between Stoke and Manchester, he is settled in the area and realistically only has 4 or 5 years left of playing.windermereROYAL wrote:When they choose Port Vale over us you have to think he prefers life up north.

100pc, unless it’s a ridiculous deal or you have a real chance of progressing up the leagues, stay local.Stranded wrote:If we were ever actually in from him is one thing, but he grew up between Stoke and Manchester, he is settled in the area and realistically only has 4 or 5 years left of playing.windermereROYAL wrote:When they choose Port Vale over us you have to think he prefers life up north.
I believe he has a family, it would take a lot to move lock stock and barrel unless it is a fantastic offer.
Remember one of the key drivers for Wing signing for us and extending is that his family are happy in the area and playing for us allows them to continue their life where they are settled - that will be a big driver for players in their late 20s or early 30s.

No no, you've got it all wrong. It's because the club is a shambles, RC lied to everyone, we can't compete with PV and footballers aren't human beings who have a mind of their own, they're robots you can move between clubs like on FIFA.Stranded wrote:If we were ever actually in from him is one thing, but he grew up between Stoke and Manchester, he is settled in the area and realistically only has 4 or 5 years left of playing.windermereROYAL wrote:When they choose Port Vale over us you have to think he prefers life up north.
